Illinois - DeKalb area checking in.
Hello, names Russell.
Came from the DSM community looking to get into a 240. (If anyone has a solid one LMK 91+ 4k max. sr swapped preferred.) I have extensive experience with engines, tuning and wiring on DSMs. I'd image there won't be too many things I'd need to learn but you never know sometimes. But I want to start a project that will be more reliable than the Talon. Currently running it on Speed Density and it's a pain. Can't run the MAF because @ 30 psi it can't keep up. So I have to use MAP and AIT. |

I live in Somonauk. Just south of DeKalb and just North of Ottawa.
Things aren't looking good though. I'm looking for a car but no one is getting back to me and most of what is on Craigslist is broken rusted junk. I'm looking at getting a DDable car to do weekend projects. Probably going to pick up a 240 project and an XB for work. (Cable Tech.) I'll bag the Scion and work on the 240 on days off. That's if I can't find a DD 240 in decent shape. |

Lots of rust buckets on craigslist. Good luck tho. The decent ones are over priced. Anyways I just thought I'd check this thread since I just seen a grey 240 between Leland and Somonauk on 34. Crazy. Haha.

Welcome to Zilvia. I usually come across clean 240s all the time so hit me up if you need to find one, also Chitown Meets.com for local meets and events. As far as DSM > 240sx you will be dissapointed with an SR, a good runnin 4G63 is soooo much better. Trust me I know, I have worked and built plenty of both engines and I have been in the DSM game for years. If you go with a 240SX just go with something more ballsy then an SR you will have more fun.
