Urgent: sr20det vs ka24de alternator rebuilt

i have to rebuilt my sr20 alternator and i would like to know if both have the same intern ? sr20det redtop vs ka24de.
the part number on mine is 23100-52F10

Why not just use the KA alternator? You will need to enlarge the pivot hole, and swap pulleys on the KA alternator.

since your already doing that, use a VG30VE alt from a quest... might as well upgread if you have to modify to fit..

i did'nt have the ka24de alternator. On the other hand, it does'nt answer has my question.
i will bring to the shop this afternoon and see with us if it's possible to rebuilt.

Sorry for not answering your question, but i'm wondering of anyone has tried your approach when its so easy to install a KA alternator. What do you need to swap out anyway? The diodes and voltage regulator may swap over, but i dunno about the stator and rotor. Try it out, see if it works.

What you can do is buy a new or remanufactured alternator from an auto parts store, swap the pulleys and return the SR alternator as the core. Its like $80 for a remaned alternator. Rebuilding prolly costs close to that.
