Sorry for not answering your question, but i'm wondering of anyone has tried your approach when its so easy to install a KA alternator. What do you need to swap out anyway? The diodes and voltage regulator may swap over, but i dunno about the stator and rotor. Try it out, see if it works.
What you can do is buy a new or remanufactured alternator from an auto parts store, swap the pulleys and return the SR alternator as the core. Its like $80 for a remaned alternator. Rebuilding prolly costs close to that. |
