too many problems coming up
i have a problem that just came up and was wondering if any of you zilvians know whats wrong with my car.
everytime when i brake hard on my car my tail light fuse blows out rite away. this only happens when i brake hard and at night. my tail lights and instrumental light goes out too. another thing i have going on is sometimes i will have to give my car some gas to start it up. and when i do give it gas it starts rite up. anyone know whats wrong? |

Check the start pin on the ecu for power for the starting issue, if its not theres your problem. So you have to trace it down. For the lights, is the correct size fuse in there?

You probably have an exposed wire (brake/instrumentation circuit) that is grounding out while hard braking. You need to trace that wire and find where it's exposed and cover it up.

Honestly you don't have to have touched your tail light harness, it if it rubbed enough, it will expose wires and possibility of grounding it. I had a hard time finding mine before on an evo converted galant until it was at night. I saw the arc from the radiator core support to my hood. The wiring harness was rubbing in between the support and the radiator and exposed the wire thus creating the arc to the hood. It was cool and scary at the same time lol.

had this same issue on my first 240... check for exposed or wires that burned together.
especially around the trunk/rear tail light area
