i have a 1995 s14 ka24de and i want to change my oil pan gasket because is leaking oil, i want to know how to get my oil pan out, what parts do i need to remove in order to remove oil pan and if some has some pics on how to remove my oil pan it will be very helpful.TANK YOU

Easiest way is to unbolt your motor mounts and lift your motor with a cherry picker unbolt your oil pan and then slide it forward. Then hard part is to get it back on without messing up your bead of fresh RTV. This is how I did it in my S13 so it shouldnt be to much different GL

Way easier to drop the crossmember, just unbolt the steering rack and LCAs, place a bottle jack under the transmission bellhousing, and remove the crossmember entirely. Gives you all the room in the World to drop and reinstall the pan.

Try reading better.

He didn't say to take the engine out. His comment was to lift the engine slightly, to gain clearance underneath. Which works fine if you have a hoist, but is still not the easier route.

The High & Mighty

you need a:

ratchet
air ratchet (optional, makes the job quicker)
10mm socket
razor blades ( to clean the old gasket off)
Angle grinder with a scotch brite pad ( optional, cleans the old gasket off quicker

Permatex The right stuff, gray import version (excellent gasket maker)

or

toyotas FIPG , works very well too.


loosen up the motor mounts from the crossmember. lower the crossmember a bit to get clearance to remove the oil pan. i believe the crossmember nuts are 17mm. support the engine either with a cherry picker or some jack stands. if you know anyone with one of those engine support bars used for fwd vechicle when doing a trans job, that will come in very handy.

And dropping the crossmember isn't? I lifted the engine to remove mine. If Russ say's you'll get more room, then you will, and you should go that route.
