I normally go to gokart racer in burlingame.
If anyone is headed there, let me know and I'll see if something can be done for you. No guarantees.

I would like to get into high speed karting, but I would need to be able to tow/transport the kart, which I can't presently.
I would also need to get rid of a number of non-functional motorcycle bits before I'd have a place to store it.

Best bang for your buck looks to be Briggs and Statton world formula karting. I have raced these twice and they are decent fast 60+mph.

Indoor karting seems super expensive to me.
I could do a full day of open practice at Summit Point for $225-ish. I couldn't even buy a full day at Allsports indoor karting for that. Granted, the track day requires you to actually bring a car and provide fuel and tires, but it still seems out of whack. I would like to buy a kart next year, if possible.

The point of racing to me is racing other people not time, which is why I'd like to get into a kart. Something that is purpose built to be raced not some 20year old vehicle that wasn't built for racing.

i remember when i worked at pole position raceway the karts get up to 40 mph, but not all karts are the same some are faster than others. the mechanics can program the CPU. you can change top speed/top end/ bottom end. so some karts had more torque and some picked up really fast on straight aways
there is also this black kart that claims to go 60mph i wish i could have time to try real outdoor Karting

I use to work at dromo1 and the same crap, but we were gas and didn't have any programmable ecu's just carbs. We use to take off the air filters when we raced until it leaned out so much the motors started shitting out.

was it fun working there? When i work at P2R it was actually the funnest job i've ever had. i just left because the GM was preaching christianity and found ways to fire most of the employees which led to others including me to handle 3 different job positions (mechanic/supervisor/ race controller) and getting paid the same

It was fun until the manager started telling people we couldn't hang out, outside of work. But that didn't work out so well. The only real reason I bought a s13 was because one of the mechanic's told me about zilvia. Now I realize 240's aren't race cars. I am now looking into a 2 stroke 125cc tag fireball.

I just bought $200 worth of groupon tickets for a local indoor go kart place, so i guess ima be driving karts more often now.
Some places out there have special drift events where they put plastic rings around the rear tires to make them more slippery.

There was a kart track in vegas that would put baby powder down on the ground but it was too big of a mess. To get our track nice and sticky we would spray down used motor oil and after running on the track for 15min the track would be unbelievably sticky. The first 5 minutes were a bit dangerous though.
