Protecting Children from Internet Pornographers Act
A bill that went through the house committee last year that is now receiving more attention. Information here: Bill Text - 112th Congress (2011-2012) - THOMAS (Library of Congress) and an article here: The Legislation That Could Kill Internet Privacy for Good - Conor Friedersdorf - Politics - The Atlantic
Basically the bill requires all ISP's to retain for 18 months customer records, history, data, credit card #'s, and bank accounts for perusal by a government agency without any warrant or consent. The bill contains previsions for the data to be "stored securely", however all maintenance and security is up to the ISP. |

It's the let the federal government search your digital information without a warrant act. Politicians have been bought out it doesn't matter what the people think anymore, most people are too stupid to think anyways.

Anybody selling copyright, trademark or patent material. It also calls for the destruction of the means of production for the counterfeits. Sharing is included as well.

No, its -every- subscribing customer to and ISP, everyone. That means everyone that pays or receives internet access for free (ie: you). A study was conducted on what it would cost ISP's and if it was feasable, the answer was yes and at a cost of about 200 million.

I find it unlikely the ISP is making a copy of everyone history... that would be a major resource problem.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement is like SOPA and PIPA on steroids. The idea that they are going after PEDO's is just a way for the technologically retarded to say "I support that" without reading it. The good news is that many christian website will get shut down.... see what I did there?
