z32 tranny weight
I'm wondering how much the z32 5-speed tranny weighs. I am selling mine, and I want to get an accurate shipping quote for it. I searched google, but didn't come up with anything.

well a KA/SR tranny weigh about 100lbs
A Z32 tranny is pretty beefy i would say around 150lbs or just get a bathroom scale and throw it on there

I weighed my SR trans versus the Z32 trans and it was a 26lbs difference. So roughly 110lbs is what my S14 SR trans weighed.

Should do a BMW E36 trans swap as weight reduction... Haha those are about half as long and weigh around 55-65 lbs. Very easy to toss up on the motor by yourself.

pretty strong too. buddy of mine made around 650 with his bone stock e36 trans, bearings are shot lol but gear sets are still perfect. cases are pressed together tho and require a "special bmw tool" to slip the case. |
