Why the fuck they doing that? Some of my friends are panicking because they have family over in Hawaii.
My Cousin JUST came back from Hawaii. He was stationed over there in the Marine Core. I swear, he came back Tuesday. I seen this shit happen live throughout the night at work. Its fucking sad man. People were running to their cars trying to drive away only to be swallowed up by the water. |

Sounds like Hawaii is safe for the most part...reporting 6-7 ft waves.
Also, just for gee-whiz...they've had 102 Earthquakes off the Coast of Honshu area this week. They had a 6.8 out there a couple of days ago before this big one. |

I have a friend who's living in Yokohama. I hope he's alright. I tried to reach him but his phone is down. I sent him an email as well. I hope he's alright (among other Japanese members here as well as the people there in general).
Listening to BBC radio right now... |

just in case no one remembered, the one that hit haiti was a 7.0
on the richter scale, what earthquakes are measured by, each integer is increased 10 fold. So an 8.8/9 earthquake is about 20x stronger than a 7.0 Although Japan spends lots of research and development costs on Natural Disaster protection, this is pretty fucking bad. The yen-value is supposed to have dropped, very slightly however (82 yen - 1 usd); the waves were speculated to hit california by tonight - however they probably won't be noticed
