I dont see how that has any relevance. Its a box, you program it to suit your needs.

if your looking for reasonably prices jz parts and 240sx party, go to driftmotion.com. they have oem and aftermarket replacements for JZ's and 240sx. You will become best friends with that site. The only thing that is not cheapest their, is clutches. For clutches, i would recommend mvpmotorsports.com

I see the resonator right before the blast pipes, but is that a small race muffler you have a little further up the exhaust by the drive shaft? Car sounds awesome!

g_mac, it's actually an identical resonator to take away the rasp! The tone of the overall car is awesome, and it's quiet when i want it to be quiet.

[QUOTE=Options13;5460608]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKQhCs19k-k

my engine finally runs! before i drive myself crazy trying to find out why there is no throttle response or idle, would anyone know why its idling like that? its a stock vvti with an AEM ver 2.

the only thing that isn't plugged in is the VTC gear, and air temp sensor. I am not going to plug the VVTI gear in until i got in for the tune.

any advice would be great! (quote)

Back when you 1st started the car and had the rough idle/driveability issue...what was the root cause of that? Glad to see you got the car running now!

crunchy_g the map sensor was wired in backwords, so simply re-wired it and it ran much smoother. Also the car was on a base map, so it was totally guessed and running extremely rich.

sneak peak of the engine bay.

Why did you decide to go with vvti over the standard 1jz?

Kenny the main reason is the design of the head and valve cover.. plus the extra power and fuel efficiency

been a while since i have posted on here!!

Yes, a big turbo is defiantly in the making!!

some Quick FIX pics.

On hot days i've been having some over heating issues because my intercooler was mounted to close to my radiator. So now i am going with a v-mount setup, along with a twin scroll turbo, and cage.

I am unsure on what top mount turbo to run, maybe you guys will have a some suggestions for me?

I'm looking for full boost by 3500, and 450-500whp. I've been reccomended a few turbos, PTE5858, GTX3076, GTX 3576, Borg Warner efr 7670, and Borg Warner S358.

I have no idea which one i really want though!

Here's a quick teaser video of what in store for the car in 2015

I will begin updating this thread regularly again!

Take the efr, watched on on a dyno on an fc make full boost at 3k and made 370 wheel before he ran out of fuel. And that was on 91 pump. Those things spool like a damn jet man. Also watched one on a guys mk4 supra with just that turbo and fuel to support make 420 at 1 bar. The efr is crazy expensive but theres a reason..... witchcraft .

im debating either between an EFR 7064 or a 7670..

I want it to be almost fully spooled up by 3500, (20 psi) and i want to throw down around 450whp - 500 whp.

I am running 91 oct along with water meth.

Are those realistic goals?
I'm almost considering upgrading my cams to the tomei cams, but don't know if that is completely necessary.

Sorry I forgot which engine your building but Either way I wouldn't so much worry about spool on any of the models you've listed, although the 7064 would get you quicker spool no matter what.

Is there a reason you left out the EFR 6758? If your looking for a KILLER power band I'd use the 6758 with the 0.64 AR as they don't offer it with anything else. It will Choke slightly up top though... And when I say slightly... I'm talking like...you'd probably never miss anything because your mid would be killer.

If you want a tad more room to grow...with minimal loss in response. Go with the EFR7064 with the 0.92AR. Power band would still rip, still have better response than any other turbo in it's class offered by the competition and if you wanted room to grow... swap out the hot side to the larger A/R 1.05 and that'd be just about as large as you want to go on your set up. If you wanted even more response.....they offer a smaller hotside as well "A/R 0.83" That'd most likely be the best overall choice if you wanted a bit of room to grow.

The EFR7670 would work as well....but anything will "Work" it's just a matter of how well you want it to work. It'd be slightly less responsive than the other choices and it would give you more room to grow....but there wouldn't really be much benefit other than bragging rights as to "how large your turbo is" which is really just stupid.

One thing that really erks me is when people are like "ohhh man check out how large that turbo is." It's like.....Cool man... your car gets full power by 5300RPM... Right when the rest of us are already smiling from ear to ear and the party's already over. It's like.. nice build... but your turbo choice only lets you use half of the builds potential. "get the power under the curve." Different strokes for different folks though.

ps here is my dyno chart with my EFR. This wasn't a full pull from low RPM rolling into the power... but You can see how the power band is nice and flat....almost Naturally Aspirated-esk. It's what you want when drifting... Makes the car easier to drive. Wait what are you using this car for?

Thanks for your input mannykiller!

The car will be used to mainly street drifting / events. Mainly Drifting though. I plan on running race gas at the track, but on the street i am just going to run 91 oct plus water meth.

From the sounds of it, it looks like i may be better off with the 7064 .92 housing and just weld the internal wastegate shut?

I want quick response.. I currently have the M8280 and the response on that was awesome. is the 7064 .92 about the same size as my tomei?
