Cant remove EGR pipe from header
Trying to remove the header but I cant seem to get the EGR pipe disconnected from it. Ive tried using penetrating oil but I still cant get it off. Any tips?

deuceforty has the right idea and less work. extending the wrench works great!!! make sure to lube it up nice though. its a b**ch to get off though i went through the same thing to put my old hotshot headers on.

Lets see first off you fail for running an egr just block it off. Cut the tube and take the whole header off (its much easier) Then put a socket on their and zip it off with an impact. Ive had to do this many of times. If you still want to run an egr ill sell you a new tube+valve for $5.00 plus shipping just to help you out.

pipe wrench worked for me...you wont ever be able to put a box wrench on it again, but still, it grips on there like a mofo. if need be bust out the bfh and put thunder down on that wrench to get it going

Extended wrenches FTW! If you can't get it off, go lift some weights. I used to soak a small rag wtih WD40/PB and sit on there, then attack it.
If you wanna plug it, you should use a nickel. Fits perfectly and securely. |
