So I've been having a bit of a hard time finding 5 speed conversion parts (pedal assembly, Trans crossmember etc) at any kind of decent price, or availability. So being a fabricator as well as working at a machine shop I was thinking of making a "reproduction" 5speed conversion kit. Now obviously it will differ in the oem design in that they won't be stamped out of one peice of metal (the crossmember and the pedal bracketry). Basically just putting it out there that I wanna do this. Prototype and go into production. I wanna get some feedback if there's interest in this as a kit. Either way I'm probably gonna make myself a setup but I wanna see if it's worth it to make a decent quantity. It would include all the bracketry plus the Trans case bolts, and all other necessary hardware. Not sure if I posted in the correct section, if not mods feel free to move. Thanks

tranny mount would be cool, I think the pedal would be difficult.

If you can keep the price under what you can get OEM stuff for then I say go for it. Or if the product is that much better and ends up costing more, well its aftermarket.

I was able to source all of my parts for $300, transmission included.

All your parts? Like flywheel clutch etc? When I'm talking about a kit it's more so just the Trans crossmember, pedal assembly and hardware

^ I saw mention of that but who actually started doing it?

I got everything for $500, but that included a $350 new clutch. I was lucky enough to live in SoCal where you can find 240s in the junk yard with that stuff all day long.
