I recently bought a front clip off him for my S13.
I found this post AFTER I bought it!! I was worried. Especially since he said his paypal was broken and that I would have to send him a Money Order! I went ahead and bought it anyways. Just because I only wanted the RHD conversion. So I bought a bare clip from him. It cam in IT WAS PERFECT! Just as described! I'm very happy with my purchase! As far as the shipping goes, it was packaged kinda crappy, not like other front clips I have bought in the past... But oh well! I had good experience with him! I will be spending more of my money with him soon again!! |

hes lightening up actually my dad bitched at him many times, and hes slowly being nicer to me and my brother. he actually would give me things, like a hks evc boost controller he had i mean the controller is about 500 or so new and he gave it to me, wow! so yeah if you guys need anything i can go myself and grab some silvia head lights or something you guys need something not ridiculous though cant carry a clip on my coupe =P

Bought an rb from him. Turbo was blown and had alot of oil
in the turbo intake pipe. He was a dick until I showed him I had money. His eyes widened n was happy to assist me woth whatever I wanted. Lol haha his prices are fair. Friends have bought clips from him n motor sets. All seem to be running till this day. I personally wouldn't go to him for sr's. I got an sr for 1400 motorset including uncut harness n ecu! Pm me if u want to know where!

We usually get a good amount of motors/clips from cookie monster.
Very rude but he uses that tactic to weed out the flakers. If you show that you mean business, he will treat you like a customer. Just a tip: bring an asian guy with you, it helps!

anyone have any recent experience with this fella? im about to go check out an sr front clip but wouldn't buy it unless hes giving me compression numbers AND a warranty

Im about to go get a blacktop clip. Can anyone tell me if they still have good motors. Ive called and emailed them but yea he said he cant just compression test it for no reason. I told him im a serious buyer and plan on going asap. (Its a 6 hour drive there)
First sr swap and kinda nervous. Rather buy and see the clip here in CA. Than order one from some other state. Any help? Or any other place in CA that has them for the same price. |

Never had a problem with JandR or Vinney! the Shop is legit and yes he's rude but cash is KING show him and 100% customer service, bought about 3 swaps from him all ready and there still running, if you got a blown motor than thats your luck. You can tell if the motor is healthy by the way the motor looks from the bottom to the top? think about that.
And I'll be back to buy more parts from him in the near future!

Just got home from there. Got the redtop clip. He started it up for me and everything but didnt want to compression test it after me asking like 8 time for it. He just assured me that it passed when it was shipped. The motor looked all dirty but once it was out of the clip it looked okay. Lobes where really clean and souded good when it was running so i decided to take it. Kind of nervous to install it and see if it will run good. He does act lime a dick on the phone and even throu email. Had to drive 4 hours to get there. Hoping for the best and it motor is bad then im [email protected]!

^^^ Don't worry about it, I've been doing business with J&R since 2004. Vince deals with a shit load of tire kickers that is why he has his attitude. aside from that I've never had a problem with them they have always taken care of me.

Sorry to revive a old thread but laughed so hard hard never heard anyone call vinnie Cookie Monster hahaha fuking great hahaha .. He's harmless and a cool guy just a dick I've bought plenty of motors and parts from him and never had a issue from J&R

My friend and I buy a lot of Honda parts from them. Mostly Integra Type-R front end's about 50 of them, some CRX front end's like 2, and some 1988-1991 Honda Civic front end's like 5.
The customer service is excellent. He get really jolly when we buy that much of product from him every single time. But the market is dying out so we stop buying from him. |

Is this still a good place? Other than having a rude salesman... It seems that they have more front clips than most other places do, and I might be looking into getting one soon. Any recent experiences?
