I hate this but when i try to shift into second gear, it feels like somethign is stopping me. I have no idea why.
Also, the clutch pedal squeaks and it feels like the clutch doesn't have the pop that t used to=meaning that it doesnt return all the way to the top, or it comes up but it doesnt come up fast enough. any ideas? I know somebody just started the squeaking question but what about the bump in second gear? I have a 90 240sx fastback by the way, it doesnt matter but somebody always says "but you wasnt specific enough, what kind of car do you have, what year or model?" |

well, i don't know about the sluggish clutch, but if the squeak is on the inside of the car, try some WD-40. when i bought the car, it squeaked like MAD each time i press or release the clutch, after copule sessions w/ WD-40 it was gone (notice i said couple sessions, after the 1st time, the squeak came back...)

I looked inside before and I don't know which part I should spray. Exactly which part of the clutch should I spray? I didn't really see a spring in there so it's kinda weird. Maybe there was some kind of thing that compresses that kinda looks like a spring and it's like above the clutch, is that what I supposed to spray?

I have that "bump" problem too! I have it going into 2nd and going into 3rd. I think it might actually be the synchros, but I am far from a tranny expert. I just got it so I need to check my tranny and diff fluid. I did find that it if I rest it in neutral for a nanosecond, it won;t get the bump go figure. Maybe it will fix itself like my old Volkswagen <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

My 96 does the same thing. See if it gets any better if you push the shifter to the left while shifting into 2nd. The synchros are very tight on our cars--I have already had my car test-driven by 3 mechanics and all of them have told me that 240's have very tight synchros.
