How to make my computer read
Japanese characters. I want to start learning Japanese as my fourth language and I can't take online lessons because the Japanese characters come up as boxes with numbers in em. Is there any way to make my computer read Japanese characters? I already tried going to control panel and and regional thing but I don't have the installation cd. Anyone know if I can download something? If I can can I get link please? I tried using Google but I fail at searching stuff like that.

All you need to do is just install a language pack. What OS are you using? If you're using Vista, just go to Windows Update and it should have some packs listed waiting for your approval to dl/install.
If you're on XP, just visit the Microsoft website, and in the search box type Japanese language pack. |

Never had a problem displaying foreign characters on any of my computers. Well, at least not since like 1995, or something.
But since it seems like you're having a bunch of comp problems anyway, why not spring for the hundred-or-so dollars and buy the Windows CD? Or get hardcore geeky and learn Linux. |
