Nothing but 5-10 mins and a 3lb sledge hammer. I've seen someone do the cut out and weld a plate and it looked super good but i don't have access to a welder.

How does the stock t56 slave hold up to drifting. It would suck having to pull the transmission out just to upgrade to a tilton hydraulic slave.

Quick question for you CD009 guys. If I fill my trans with fluid without having a drive shaft in will it leak out?

FSM for SR20 transmission calls for it on the release bearing sleeve, pilot bushing and pivot ball. It will not. I even lowered the trans to install shifter in car, driveshaft out, still didn't leak |

Thanks guys - ended up buying a yoke offline from here https://zcardepot.com/products/trans...18f361d3&_ss=r Perfect fit and the driveshaft place is providing the rear flange and as it turns out they would have ordered from the same mfg either way so it worked out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

that all depends on what you use the car for.
consider that a factory z33 manual trans diff is a 3.5 stock s13 is 4.08 that's a much shorter final drive than Nissan originally intended, you'll have great acceleration but shit for max speed, and freeway driving will suffer not bad if its a drift car that you trailer to the track, but not great for a daily. doesn't mean people don't do it, hell I know people who street drive s13 and s14 with 4.3 and even 4.6 (with regular ka or sr trans). |

Would one of the r32/3/4 diffs or s15 6 speed helical diff be good enough? |

What’s the consensus / review on the Collins adapter kit?
I currently have a KA and the end goal is RB25DET. With this kit it looks like I can kill two birds with one stone. (I do see the mazworx KAVQ kit w/ GKTech shifter a good option for KA, but leaves me with figuring something out later for RB) Seems to be a lot of f***in’ around with this Z33 trans. Other option I’m considering is R33/Z31 transmission w/ Alpha Omega for the KA then just switch to RB25 bellhousing when I go RB25. @mint240 —> Regarding diffs. Taking into account cd009’s 6th ratio @ 0.794, any diff. 3.5-3.9 would be good ballpark (for street/highway) and depending on preference and application. I myself plan on going w/ a late Q45 @ 3.69 or a Ford 8.8 @ 3.73 I have a thread on diffs and am pretty well versed on the combinations especially for S13. If you need a hand message me. Q45 diffs are cheap btw @ like $250 or less. |

I saw somewhere that using a piece from the xterra truck I believe changed the diff gearing to something tolerable. Any input on that? I just went CD009 on my JZ and I already have a Kaaz 2 way I?d like to preserve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

@Bigmike, tolerable in what way? Most pieces that you take from xterra that I know of are to shorten gears / climb higher, numerically. 4.6 ratio territory.
After ‘05? You can get lower numeric gearing but I’m totally unfamiliar with what diff is even back there. Sorry. Here’s one of the mostly complete listings I’ve found for R200’s. http://www.eatsleepboost.lt/tech-inf...0-diff-ratios/ Other part is pathfinder 5th gear is 0.811 on an FS5r30a box. Probably unrelated to what you were talking about though? Edit: Xrerra that I’m familiar with is 37:8 and 51:11. Idk if it’s even possible, but 37 gear on 12 or 13 pinion yields 3:1 territory but in my opinion that’s much too low. |
