Megan coilovers
Just have a quick question,
I got my car corner balanced and full allignment done last summer, The car handles amazing but I now want to lower the front and get rid of the wheel gap. I lowered the collars already about 10 spins but didn't really seem to drop that much, should I just keep spinning lower? Also is this going to drastically reduce the handling of the car? I really didn't want to change he specs from when the shop did the corner balance, but cant stand wheel gap! Any help is appreciated, Thanks. |

You don't lower the top collars!
You loosen the collar above the bracket and then you rotate the whole damper assembly so it threads down into the lower bracket.

leave the 2 higher spring seats alone,
loosen the lowest one to freely spin the shock tube bracket. If you want lower, you can remove the last locking collar IF and ONLY IF, the tube will make contact with the 2nd collar.

Hey guys sorry for bringing this up again but I just got a chance to try this, Car is sitting right now with the bottom coilover bracket off. I still cant get it to spin!
The coilovers are pretty new and are in amazing shape. Nothing else was seized in them. Im having the same problem because when I go spin the bottom bracket, everything spins and it is hard to hold onto the actual shock body. If anyone has any tips on this its greatly appreciated. |

I dont know if someone already mentioned this but lowering your car too much will add lots of understeer! I have the Megan Street coils and the first day, I put them on and slammed my car and it took corners worse than it did with stock struts... Then I raised it about 15 turns and now it's perfect. Hope that helps.

Im still in the process of getting everything painted and finding some parts. I will for sure post pictures but I cant get these coilovers to go lower!
Someone please help. I pulled the coilover off the car and put the bottom bracket in a vice and still cant get the dam thing to spin. Any tricks or anything to get this done?? Im sick of pulling the coilovers on and off. |

Try soaking them in some sort of lubricant... And I mean SOAKING. That's what I had to do with mine... I used WD40 cause that's all I had.
Do you by chance have the ring tool that comes with them? If so, that helps a lot... I bought my coils used and the guy lost the tool so now I get to hit the rings with a flat head scewdriver until it breaks loose. |

you do not lower the car by the spring what so ever, especially considering you had the car corner balanced, messing with the spring changes the rate, reduces the suspension travel you "had" and FUCKS the entire set up you paid to get done. |

please dont use a flat head screw driver bro... that only damages the soft aluminum perches. use a brass punch from now on...or AT LEAST use a quarter inch drive extension... do it somewhat right |
