For those that might be interested, here's some pics of the Mavs partying it up in Miami. If you scroll towards the middle-ish, you'll see Dirk's progressive state of getting wasted.

Mavericks Take Over LIV*|*World Red Eye

While I'm happy for the city of Cleveland, and the state of Ohio, those guys are going to have to settle down sooner or later. I find this pretty hilarious though.

^^^ that whole bit by the governor was hilarious. But you're right they're gonna have to calm down eventually. The thing is, the majority of people arent pissed that he left, they're pissed about HOW he left and that shit is gonna sit with folks for years to come.....

Hell, i cant stand Lebron (for the same reasons as phlip), but i dont blame the guy for leaving. I do however, think the "how" was classless, egotistical, and a huge slap in the face to the organization that gave him free reign to do whatever the fuck he wanted and then some for all those years. But whatver, he burned that bridge and now he's gotta deal with it.

Classlessness on his part followed by classlessness of those he burned. Its a vicious and all the while hugely entertaining and hilarious cycle. The NBA, where shit happens.

It's going to be tough to get over the stigma left by LeBron. The press conference after game 6 was not handled too well IMO.

Blake in OKC would be epic.

don't hate on Gnnr guys, he has been a good sport through all this. you guys played a helluva playoffs man, sucks that you kinda fell apart in the finals, but thats where you learn. i have a feeling you guys will get a crack at it again. Hey, at least your team didn't get swept (read: SHITBLASTED) by the Mavs like mine :/

Exactly. We've had our share of downs and we know how it is to lose. I would expect the amount of hate that the Heat get had Kobe and Company put on a WWE-style pre-season press conference, only to lose in the Finals and not back it up. That is my whole thing with them. Have they just went through the season normally, the hate for them would not be like this, but your Big 3 had to be so cocky and bigheaded.

Other than that, your core group is one or two solid role players away from a title. I said before the season started, that LBJ is going to get a ring sometime in the future, not just this year, and I was right.

All the ridicule and trashtalk you guys are getting is rightly deserved, whether you guys like it or not. Had you guys won, it would have been a different story.

I like to make fun and talk shit of other teams/players because it's part of the game. If you think the amount of hate you get is bad, try being a knowlegeable and diehard Laker fan since '91 and having other fans call your whole fanbase a bunch of bandwagonners year in and year out that we win, and people who constantly make comparisons between Kobe and Mike, just to downplay Kobe's achievements. Trust me, we've had our share of hate and ridicule from the other NBA fans.

Coming from an ACTUAL Cowboys fan, I know your pain. Everyone who isn't a fan hates them, and if you're a fan, you're automatically a bandwagonner.

Can't we all just agree that we're glad to not have to see the fast-rapping T-Mobile Sidekick commercial?

Agreed. I like the T-Mobile new chick besides that weird wobble she does in that commercial, but Zeta-Jones blows that broad out the water.

I agree, and I think it had a lot to do with the MULTIPLE stories Miami, Lakers 3-peat, ‘Melo, and the whole Boston thing in the regular season. Not to mention the things that happened with non playoff teams… The playoffs, despite only few 7-game series, were very high drama. It takes a lot out of you
The NBA was the WWE this year

This season was crazy, all the big trades, multiple ridiculous comebacks in the playoffs, so much fun.

Reflecting back, I really truly do think if Miami won this year the big three would have been spoiled, Mavs really deserved it. Dallas is the epitome of team work and putting in the time and effort for the trophy, not to sound cliche...

I hope this drives Miami's big 3 to put in some serious hours working on their game in the off season.

Congrats again to Dallas.

"The Decision" that is, and I am fully of the opinion that if it were truly all about the kids and not the attention, then he could have gone in those deep pockets of his and laid out 2mil of his own cash, and not from the advertisers. And yes, it was ALL out the window when the "writer" played the "white people don't like LeBron" card, especially considering I have never been a fan of the guy and happen to be brown myself.
I do agree that ESPN is a piece of shit for their hand in it, from both sides, and that no one who wants to keep their jobs will take them to task for that, so no one will say anything.

As for people making fun of the Heat, they have EVERY RIGHT to. If you don't want to see pictures and comments about it, get the fuck out of this thread then. You say 'let it go' when most Miami fans felt like they were entitled to the trophy this year just because they got the Big 3 assembled. But now after losing, you don't want people to make fun of you guys? Fuck off asshats. If you can't handle the heat (pun intended) when your team loses, grow some balls.

I am going to enjoy every single fucking minute of LeBron James' and the Heat's meltdown and failure... including their fans. Call me a hater. Call me biased. I don't care. Seeing LBJ's face when the game was winding down was truly enjoyable.

Today is also National LeBron James Day. Everyone gets to leave work 12 minutes early.

Everyone pick these up at your nearest Miami Macy's!

I couldn't agree more! I haven't had time to post here since the win because I'm on the 350z forum giving it to the Miami fans who basically felt like the Championship should be handed to them.

I think Charles Barkley and the writer of this article summed it up pretty damn well.

Quote:
Charles Barkley admitted on Wednesday that he "can't root for" the Miami Heat. And Charles Barkley, for whatever this says about us, is the voice of the people.

He's not some manipulative Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes-type, taking advantage of us on his way to (nearly) the top, and he doesn't parse his words out carefully to make us feel as if we all have a friend as the top voice on radio and/or TV. He's just a guy that, despite our obvious differences, seems to often say exactly what's on our minds. Like, despite what the Miami fans in the comments section will tell you, what a lot of us are thinking about the Miami Heat.

Right or wrong, few are rooting for this team. I, honestly, am rooting for great basketball for seven games, but as long as the Heat continue to play poor basketball down the stretch of losses, how can you not at least prefer (if not root) for a Mavericks team working with its likely last chance at a title? Especially when hounded by the Heat's martyrdom and boorish fans that didn't seem to be there last year?

On Wednesday, this is what Barkley had to say about the Heat, on ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago:

"Listen, if the Miami Heat were playing the Washington Generals I would pick the Washington Generals," Barkley said with a chuckle. "It's something about that team that annoys me.

"They just a whiny bunch and I can't root for them."

(Before we react, it should be pointed out that the Washington Generals were nice, amiable guys even in defeat. No heels, there.)

Mind you, this is coming off a Mavericks win. It wasn't as if Miami just pulled out a close game, breaking Barkley's heart (and, some would be left to guess, a small personal investment of his own), and Charles was reacting to that frustration. No, he's saying these harsh things even as the Heat walk toward the locker room while shoegazing after a defeat.

Sir Charles turned the rusty knife after that:

"Yeah, they have the worst fans. No question. It's not even loud in there. You're at the game and you are like, 'Man this place isn't even loud.' At least when you go to Chicago, it's loud in there, it's crazy down in Dallas but it's not even loud in Miami."

In Miami fans' defense, I've watched as some of them show up in our BDL Chats, and there are some knowledgeable, articulate, and intense backers that do right by the Heat. But, in Charles' defense, a scribe like me (that has to deal with 30 teams) had heard from more Charlotte Bobcat fans that Miami Heat fans in the years leading up to 2010-11.

That's not a stereotype. These Heat fans just didn't seem to be out there until Miami started winning, and the overwhelming majority don't seem to mirror the knowledge and tact of the few sound Heat fans that I've heard from. And I'm sure some of the deeper-rooted Heat fans amongst us can agree that the new kids who don't even remember that Keith Askins (or, as they call him, "the guy with the bow tie on the bench") used to be the team's wing stopper aren't exactly on the up and up.

Heat fans? Stop with the boorishness, and prove us wrong.

-has anyone else heard about the possibility of sending Pau Gasol to minny for Kevin Love and the #2 pick??
i heard that today but i dismissed it as wishful thinking. lol.
Minnesota would have to give up more than Love and the #2 pick for Gasol, as he makes $16mil. It won't happen though.
