Two "1" piston rods?
So as I was opening my motor to change the pistons. While installing the pistons i notice i have 2 of the number 1" pistons rods. does this matter or affect anything? because Im changing the bearings for the rods but i would like to make sure before anything. After all its too much work to open up the engine again.
anyways heres pictures of the rod's caps since the pistons are on the block already and also i have 2 pistons that are not installed they have a dent on top of the groove from wrong piston rings size what grit sandpapers is the best way to clean them?

it shouldnt affect anything as long as you put the same rods back in the cylinders they came from.
thats all the numbers are there for, so they can go back in the cylinder they came out of. because each cylinder wears differently so over time they become 'made' for each other. same thing with interchaning gun parts or anything else that undergoes heavy wear, it develops its own wear pattern.

Use your paper with all the measurements on it!
J/k Check the rods, they might have the same numbers. If you didn't take notes for which rod went with which cap, then it's a moot point. I would probably......., never mind!

give me some more history on your motor.
have you or other previous owners rebuilt it? i assume this at least the 3rd time that its been disassembled. i say that because originally Nissan probably had a 1 and 2 rod in there. and sometime between initial factory assembly and you dissassembling it someone needed to replace number 2 rod and sourced a rod but it was stamped 1 (no big deal.) do you know the mileage since the last tear down? even if not, you should be good and i wouldnt sweat it. take it as a lesson learned
