i'm not sure how that mr2 would violate copyright law. was the owner trying to pass it off as a ferarri for sale? i don't get how modifying ones personal property to look like something else could violate a law. and where does their law draw the line? if i paint my car a "lamborghini" paint code, would italian police soon be knocking on my door? otherwise, this seems very gestapo of them to just come in and STEAL someones car for looking like another brand. you'd think the italians would appreciate a tribute. (as long as the owner wasn't trying to profit from it).

Years ago there was a company in Arizona selling kits that turned your S30 Z car into a 62 Ferrari 250GTO Replica and it looked pretty damn convincing until you got up real close. Ferrari sued the pants off the company because they were selling real Ferrari badges to put on the car. Said company went out of business. Though not before some people built these things. There is actually one in Los Feliz here in LA I have seen it at a shop. LOL

For tricky AB, who thinks the Italian Police should be out fighting the Mob? That car was confiscated in the northern half of the country.
For the most part, the Mob is more or less located in the southern half of the country and Sicily, and they do go after them big time.
Plus its true, the Italians take Ferrari very seriously, Its a national icon.

I'll be impressed if you can tell by the pic alone.
That doesn't look like any of the cities I've visited in Italy recently.
It looks too clean and modern.
Maybe some parts of Milan look like that.

Actually I was just hazarding a guess LOL and I was wrong. Ostuni Italy southern Italian down on the Adriatic dates to the first century AD. It does appear to be a resort town , Its in the Apulia region and quite possibly organized crime was involved with that car. As the local Sacra Corona Unita as the they are called are heavily involved in drug trafficking, smuggling of Tobacco from Montenegro and trafficking in stolen cars.
I.E. They are not having wars like the ones in Sicily and Calabria . In Calabria they are actually trying to cut down on the bloodshed.


LOL by the way I am Italian American, so I do make it a point to know something about the good and bad of the background of my cultural heritage. LOL

Oh and yes Ferrari is kinda of special to me as well. LOL

Ok so your arguing at nothing. Why knock a company that sells cheap parts? And I don't have a 240 anymore and I can afford It just fine. I did have a sports car I had a EVO 8 and yea parts were kinda expensive. Now I have 3 Rx7's. I never said I can't afford It. I'm saying dont knock a company that sells parts at a cheap price,so we can all have a lil extra money to have fun with.

there are some things on a car worth spending money on building, but when you can fab up your own piping at half the cost of greddy, and sell it for cheap, then it creates competition. I am pretty sure that greddy buys the piping from the same company that makes the tubing that any other person can get the tubing from.... its those low dollar turbo kits that bug me, garrett is owned by Honeywell, a huge company which makes some top dollar products, i don't see godspeed building satellites or solar turbines.....

but there are some cool kit cars out there. take the ultima gtr

yeah dude you totally know me! i built a s13 a few years ago, got sick of gettin crap for it. Got out for a while, then got the itch to get back, didnt feel like going thru years of saving up to build a car from the ground up since it takes a good chunk of cash to do it right. found a car for sale that I liked, had most of the things I liked, picked it up, already ripped half of it apart and fixing stuff. broken diffs, motor mounts, ecu upgrade, induction setup, body work, suspension revision, aftermarket bushings, braces, dtss eliminators, electrical wiring, cooling system, omp removal, brake upgrade, now premixing 2stroke oil etc.. Nothing wrong with that, I admire its build up, I am continuing it, doesnt mean shit that I bought it. I am very confident in my tuning skills as a home grown trial and error mechanic as I am sure you are. I also am at the stage that messing with street cars wont get you real far in life, as Ive wasted a few years on my old s13 which i liked, but felt it was at the point of just bragging rights and impressing internet people. Never have any of my cars resulted to being a POS in the end. You grow old, and appreciate the car for what it is and admire the culture. I am not here to impress anybody, or get any followers, I do it because I love it.

I also visit hybridz, ferrarichat and pelicanparts *porsche * forums. Even though I do not own any of those cars, It is nice to admire those cars.
