Foreign films mean any film made in a foreign country with English subtitles

I guess I'll start it off,

Chungking Express /thread

JK, but chungking express is literally one of the greatest movies ever made. It is 2 separate stories about policemen in Hong Kong. Its sort of romantically oriented, but not in a chick flick sorta way, you'll just have to watch it.
When I tried to watch it online, it was of very poor quality, so you'll have to end up buying it off ebay or something. Thats what I did, and its worth it.

Maybe people should also give a brief overview on what the movie is about too and where they can watch it for free or relatively cheap





Cidade de dues



Film set in the favelas of Brazil about the unorganized crime and how young kids are easily sucked in. Its highly entertaining too, the story is about a protaganist who loves photography and is trying to actually get out of the gangs and drug trade, think of it as the brazilian version of The Outsiders.



English subtitles and its free online on YouTube I believe, I don't know where the one with english subs are I'll put the link if I can.



Another one is called Sleep Dealer.



Its about the possible future and it seems way too real. I've only started watching it in class. It's mostly involving the labor of immigrants and all the laborer has to do is hook themselves up to a machine and they can control a robot doing the actual work in the US.

The original Korean Oldboy is a classic.
Its a Brutal Korean revenge film, and probably pretty high up on my list of best movies ever. It was on netflix in Korean (you might have to set it to korean, because they might have a shitty dubbed version.), last time I watched it with a friend on their netflix.

I don't personally have netflix.

Last Life in the universe.
This is a great Thai movie about kinda surreal life situations. It is quite good. The soundtrack is excellent as well.
I don't think you can get it on netflix, you will have to end up buying it.

Downfall,
Is a German film about Hitler's last days and is awesome. It was on netflix for a while, but I don't think they have it anymore.

In the Mood for love

Its another wong kar wai film, that isn't really about romance so much as the title would have you believe. I'm pretty sure its on netflix.

Gangster High,

Another good Korean film, about a soccer club that turns into a gang. Ends with one of the greatest fight scenes ever.
You can watch it in parts on you tube.

Aejossi/ the man from nowhere,

Is another awesome Korean revenge film, with possibly the best choreographed fight scenes I've seen, and an excellent story

Zatoichi

Classic blind swordsman film, full of up tempo 80's music, random screams in japanese, and awesome 80's blood gush effects.

Lebanon

Is a great military film about a Jewish tank crew in the early 80's lebanon war. Probably the greatest portrayal of tank war ever, infinitesimally better than that POS Fury movie that came out a while back.

Enemy at the Gates

Its a foreign film shut up! My favorite war movie ever, seen it so many times. even if the story is total bullshit I like it. If you have the awesome VHS version you're treated to awesome interviews of the actors a year or so later.......ED harris is still wearing his Nazi uniform for some reason........no one else in the interview is in costume..........

yep I mentioned it above, and it's awesome, seen it a bunch of times. Korean revenge movies are the shit

Honestly most Korean Crime/Gangster or Revenge movie is great
