s14 sr20det hellllppppp!!!
I just recently bought a kouki s14 and it came with an sr on a pallet that was bought for the car from japan. The guy i bought it from never put the motor in the car and the sr was sitting for almost a year full of old old and i just took the oil pan off just to double check stuff. There is light surface rust on the crank probly form the oil breakin down and making it moist i need help i dont know what i should do any ideas ??? i was think to keep the motor on the engine stand straight up and fill it with fresh oil and let it set to let the oil soak in the metal.
thanks |

1. rebuild the motor 2. buy a different motor Quote:
It's going to smoke for a decent amount of time, it will eventually go away once the oil that broke down is burnt out. But after running it for a while if the smoke goes away and it seems to run fine, just change the oil again and run it until you notice a problem. Still doesn't mean that you're scott free and you should still be prepared for the worse. I mean the motors are 14-18 years old, I bought one that I knew ran and I drove it in the car it was originally in before biting the bullet. So that's about as good as advice as anyone here is going to give you.
