how much for s14 cf hood?

We are doing a very limited production dry carbon kouki hood, that is a race hood. It comes with aero catches and no stock hoodlatch hook. It will run about $900.

Well, i do have the mold we made it out.. But shipping that from norway to Kognition is very expensive.

I guess that carbon panel is OK for a race car, but waay to jank for a streetcar.

It needs to replace just the glass, and still retain the molding, or something to make it look stockish.

It is a racecar part. Which is why it weighs 1.5 lb's.
And you easily get a watertight seal from it. Unlike our 1st generation version.
I understand the discussion about the edge, but anyone can take some black silicone and smooth the outer edge with that. Giving it more of a tapered edge.

For an S13 coupe sunroof-delete panel, I would be willing to pay $100-$250. Possibly a bit more.

BTW - anyone know, if you removed the sunroof, if you can use a non-sunroof headliner?

WOW I am in for the group buy on the S14 roof
I would Like to do something like that to lose my sunroof and the rest of the roof for that matter!
My only question is how would it be fitted to the car?
If it would cost 3 times the cost of the roof to have it put on the car then it might not level out the pros and cons.
Anyway besides that you guys are fantastic for what you do for the automotive community, I would do anything to work with you guys...
Give me the word next year and Ill pack my bags and get on a plane.
I cant wait to make some purchases for my S14!

The cost of the roof is negligible when you see how much HP it frees up on the track, not to mention the lowered CG.
Again, a track part, you must have a 6pt RC for this.

Hey thats what I did after you made the recommendation. I still used the tabs that you sent also. Truly a very benefical part I dont have a 6 point roll cage in I have a roll bar. If Kognation does this I would recommend that you all pic one up. Easy part to put in, took longer to take the sunroof out.

So how soon might an S13 delete happen? Is it strictly a matter of having an S13 roof cut to work with, or are there other issues?

Just very busy that's all. We should have time in December to start on the roof replacement as well as the sunroof delete.

I'm glad to see the interest has gotten you going on this project. I emailed you last year asking about it, I think you said there wasn't enough real interest for you to actually produce one.

Anyhow, i'm in for either the delete or the full roof replacement if you do it for the S13.

Yes we are mounting the roof this week. The car just got back from paint. I will put something up before the car is loaded up for this weekend.

what do you think.........its mainly for lowering CG of the car. That is why a cage is needed. No point in having people get something they won't be able to take full advantage of

Think of that piece of sheet metal as a single laminate. Ours has two laminates, spaced 1/8th" apart. Which will be stiffer? It doesn't matter if you tack weld a sheet of metal to the roof. It will remain... a flat sheet of metal. Just a matter of preference.
