Distributor timming

I recently look my lower right timming chain off to get rid of the rattles. but in the process, I forgot to mark the distributor. so the car wont start now.... what is the easiest way to fix that and get the car running again?

If you don't know what this means, you can always do trial and error. It won't damage your car. Rotate it, try cranking it. If it doesnt go, you can turn it some more, if you reach the end pull it out and rotate it slightly and put it back in.

I know it sounds horribly ghetto, but you can do this to get the ignition timing roughly correct and then you can drive it to a shop where they can do it with a timing gun in like 2 seconds

problem solved... my distributor was off by a tiny bit. 1 thing tho. you cant rely on the markings on the crank pulley to get it to TDC. I had to physically look under the valve cover to make sure its at TDC... so yea thx every1
