there's a fuel cutoff at 114mph. The car itself is capable of quite a bit more...probably around 135mph or so.

the speed governor and rev limiter can be eliminated with and ecu upgrade...most would agree the JWT ecu is the best.

It's a factor of 1.609. If you converting kph to mph, divide by 1.609. If it's mph to kph, multiply by 1.609.
223 kph/1.609 = 138.6 mph

it all depends on what you do. ECU alone won't change much. If you've done intake, exhaust, and headers, upgraded fuel pump, or other mods like that, you'll see bigger gains.

I think in my opion that you should get the G-FORCE ECU upgrade because it only $295 and they return the ecu in 2 days.

Thanks guys i have read JWT all over this chat so that sounds pretty good to me, but $500 is a bit much but neway, I was wondering u say that the rev limiter is removed. Do u mean completely or just jacked up cause i like revving a little higher than 6500 but i still like to know that the limiter is goin to be there somewhere to keep me from getting a little to excited lol. But neway 140 mph sounds more like it!!!!! THANKS.

If I'm not mistaken, it's completely removed. Besides, unless you're modified to make power above 6500 rpm, it's pointless to rev much past it.

Why the #### are you revving past 6500 Isn't that slightly overkill? Haha

I don't know the specs on the Sentra's engine, but the 240sx is a stroker, it's not meant to be pushed as hard at the high end. Take advantage of your torque. Plus, as lance said, our intake systems aren't going to be pushing enough air in to see any difference reving that high. Be careful up there or you'll have very real reason for an SR20DET (and you thought the ECU was 'spensive)

Torque peak is at 4500, Horsepower peak is at 5500. The only thing you get at 7K rpms is a loss of power. So... STOP REVVING SO HIGH!

If you want to get rid of the speed limiter cut the yellow with green wire on your ECU, It's the 8th one over on the right..... I got this info from www.240sx.org if you want to read up on it.

Hehehe. My old coupe topped out at 114mph (at least on flat roads). I knew that before I even bought it. I took it up that high on the test drive. After that, how could I not buy it?

Don't know how fast the convertible goes. The old digital guage registered to 125 (on a down hill), but this one only shows up to 110. And, uh, 100mph feels a lot fast now than it ever did, so I havn't even buried the needle yet.

Maybe someday I'll let you know - because I know you're all curious. So this experiment will be completely selfless. =)
