Honda p20 transmission problem.

Sorry for this, but I'm stumped. I just rebuilt a honda P20 manual transmission from a D series engine. I rebuilt it correctly, made sure all gears engaged and disengaged properly and were all aligned and spun in order when the input shaft was rotated. But that isn't an issue, now the car will not turn on. The flywheel will not turn when I try and start the car. Starter and the solenoid are fine but they can't turn the flywheel. It's almost as if the crankshaft is seized but I can turn it 1/4 if I use a socket and breaker bar on the front main lug. The wheels also spin freely in all gears when on jack stands but, when the car is on the ground, I can't push the damn thing at all. Any ideas?

You can't turn the motor over more than 1/4 turn? That's a red flag right there.

Have you tried this with somebody pressing on the clutch? Is the clutch pedal is moving freely and having a good feel?

Probably because of the differential doing his job.

Exclamation

It's a clunk. I think something is stuck in the bellhousing.clutch is fine, shifts fine. And I'm pretty damn strong, I can push a car when it's in gear.

battery could be low, or starter took a shit on you. you spun the tranny by hand in every gear and everything worked so it cant really be the tranny. pull the spark plugs out as see if you can spin it easely, i could spin my DOHC ZC and d15b7 with just a my hand on the crank pully (altough tought).
sound frimler to my s13s frist atemps at starting it would cluck which would engage the pinion with the flywheel making a cluck but the starter motor never spun...

Found the problem. One of the clutch spring shield showered off and got lodged between the clutch and pressure plate. I did search those sites, they weren't very helpful

Well before, it would not go into gear under load unless I rev match. Which lead me to the diagnoses of bad synchros. But I now see that the chunk of metal wasnt allowing the clutch to fully disengage.
