So,
Took the car to a local event. It is really torque, wasn't use to the power. Spinned a couple of times on the course. Mostly I was having fun in the donut box giving ride alongs. Car was doing great, till i took it on the course one last time.... Mid Corner went to upshift into 3rd, dropped the clutch, nothing. Car stopped moving. It was weird. It would go into gear just fine. It would start, so the flywheel bolts didn't shear. I jacked up the car and could see the clutch fork pushing the Pressure plate. The pedal still had all it's resistant. Only thing i could think of is the the clutch just died. Which doesn't make sense. I plan on pulling it apart this weekend to see wtf happened. As for now, I leave you with this. A friend got a video of me smoking some tires in the donut box. I'll post it as soon as it's uploaded. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 09:55 AM.. |

This may not be the cleanest car, but it has one very nasty swap in it. Very nice job with the swap, and good luck this season.

Alright.
I'm going to make a write up on the wiring. You ready??? There are only a few wires that you need to hook up. EB2 connector is a 3 pin connector and is near the igniter EB1 connector is a 6 pin connector and is near the igniter IJ2 connector is 17 pin connector near the ECU is dark gray, has 2 rows of pins. You need switched power to EB2(2). This is a black and orange wire. You need switched power to EB2(3). This is a black and red wire You need switched power to IJ2(11). This is a black and orange wire. You need constant power to EB1(4). This is a black and yellow wire To start you need to supply "start" power to EB2(1) which is a black wire. EB2 #5 is IJ2 EB1 is RIGHT next to EB2 MAKE SURE YOU IGNITORS ARE GROUNDED! Also that the grounds on the back of the engine are bolted on. I spent about 4 days figuring that out. haha Hope this helps! All this info was taken off of other websites. I do not own any of these photos or info. |

It's not pretty but I respect the amount of work you got in to it. Looks like it works well (when it's not trying to kill itself).

It was way fun while it lasted. If it is the clutch I will be switching to a more normal clutch set up. The engine will be out tomorrow and I will be able to see what broke! |

I agree.
ok. I am sure your build thread is much better.... Oh. also i have given up on rebuilding this transmission. Don't have the right tools. so, picking up a new one. I also picked up a tire machine a bit of ago. 300 bucks Added some wheels to the back so i can move it and load it up on the trailer to bring to the track! I am also getting a new flywheel spacer made because the old one is so fubar'd I am also getting the bellhousing machined down 5/16ths of a in. So the input shaft will have more penetration on the pilot bushing. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 10:02 AM.. |

I don't have a build thread because 9 year long build threads are almost as pointless as drift missile build threads. The end product is much different; however .

This is a build about how i'd rather spend my money on driving than making my car look pretty. That is for later in life. I have ordered a new transmission should be here this weekend. Hopefully in time for the event next weekend. |

got the new transmission.
I also got 5/16th off of the bellhousing to help the input shaft have more penetration with the pilot bushing. Got the new spacer. It's quite good. fit amazingly. Got mostly everything done, still need to find a 90* for the clutch line, bleed the coolant system, build a slave cyl rod, and make sure everything is good to go. I have a event in 32 hours and i work tomorrow, AND i need to set up the track tomorrow..... Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 10:05 AM.. |

I got tagged in the photo today. Basically thursday my car looked like that. No engine, nothing. Thursday night This.. And today On the trailer headed for the track! Got to the track and the thing wouldn't start. So i start ripping apart my unlabeled rats nest of wires. play around with some things. changed a fuse. PRESTO thing starts! BUT we got done setting up the track so i wasn't able to test it. So the helpers and I put our cars in the garage we rented at the track, and my tire machine. So now. I am ready for tomorrow. 3 vid cameras. Prepare for video! Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 10:13 AM.. |

Well... Saturday was awesome!!
Car did great! I had one pair of 255/40/17s on it ALL morning until about 1. Swapped to some Continental ExtremeContact DWS and they lasted about 3 hours. With no grip haha. Here is a clip I grabbed not my best run, I drove all morning doing ride alongs. after lunch my brother drove. He learned my car fast so we let him do ride alongs all afternoon. Here is my brother one lap. Then he spun pretty hard and the alternator sense wire came off and grounded out. He didn't know this though and kept driving till the car died completely. After that we kinda fixed it. But i think the alternator might be dead.... Hope not... It's not mine... Hit the walls... a few times Got the trailer all loaded up. Tire machine fits pretty well.. I have to drive my truck up on ramps and deflate the rear trailer tires to get my car on the trailer.... Well. All in all it was a good day. I have some kinks to work out, the car misfires pretty bad. I need to change the spark plugs. At the end of the day the clutch felt a little weird, so I plan on pulling the engine (again) and looking at it. I also want to paint my engine bay and get over fenders. Thanks!
You need to get out there. It's amazing! I found out why my car was misfiring so bad. 1. Stock sc400 fuel rail pressure is 35psi. Mine is at 60psi. 2. spark plugs are from the middle ages and probably don't fire 100% of the time. Also, I got an offer on my clutch. 900 bucks. So i plan on selling that and picking up a less aggressive setup! Little less stress on everything. It will be nicer to load the car on the trailer too and to drive around in the pits. So this sunday i will be pulling the engine and trans... again. To pull off the clutch. I think i might make a little 30 sec montage of how easy this engine goes in and out of the 240 |

You should just get Brett's kit. I got the stage 3 clutch kit. It doesn't feel that aggressive at all and grabs nicely. I still gotta break it in as well as the Engine. You have a FPR? I also Installed a Deastchworks (how ever you spell that lol) Fuel Pump in mine but i'm not running a FPR.
