I was planning on reaming out my factory taper to a US 1.5 or 2 inch taper. Fortunately, Kuah @ SPL made a few custom ones and I was lucky enough to get some. The taper is stock nissan with a 5/8-18 shank. That happened to be the monoball size I have been using so it works great (mine used to loosen up a tiny bit once in a while so these will be a great upgrade) |

Some updates
I started the car today! If you like fire, check out the video. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN2szApaRTI[/ame] I finished the mods to the cooling system that needed to be done. The microprocessor control for the EWP is wired in as well as a few other small things. One of the last major things to do is the front end. I have been waiting for a hood for like 5 weeks now and I need that as its the only stock mounting part on the front. That dictates where everything else will be mounted. So, when the car is tuned and ready to go, a full test day will be in order and then I think the first actual event will be Super Lap Battle at Pocono. We'll see though, I might only be able to do Redline @ VIR this year and a few test days. Some cooling system photos. |

Sex.... I cant wait to build my next car. In the process of building my first car,or anybodys car for that matter, you learn and think of so many other new and better things you can do next time.

i am so glad you decided to build a 240. we could be missing out on all this awesomeness if you had chosen another chassis.
and, becareful where you stand around bill's car if it is idling. i can see a few hot legs in the future or scaring a few unsuspecting bystanders with a quick tap of the throttle. |

I see, my buddy's RB does that alot too and its just running rich. Not quite the fireballs like that though. Probably the super short exhaust. But yea that machine is awesome. I'll have to meet you in person some time. Maybe at a track event or something.

Thanks Estevan.
The turbo CHRA/Compressor Housing arrived today. Oiling system, cooling system, brakes and electronics are all set to go. Tuning will commence in the next few days! The whole oiling system disconnects with two fittings, no leakage. Removing the front (to work on the engine) takes less than one minute. I will most likely use 112 but I am thinking about Q16. |

Thanks guys. I hope the car will be impressive this/next year. It is getting sprayed in calsonic blue after the front bodywork is completed
The turbo is in. I machined the compressor inlet down a tiny bit and removed the lip so I can use 4" ducting to the filter. The outlet was tapered up to 2.5" and smoothed out inside. I started the coolant lines to the turbo, oil return is done and feed is done. Our buddy brought by his new Peterbuilt tri-axle, 540hp-1650ft/lbs. It has one of the new cummins/holset VGT turbos. I noticed it has a turbo speed sensor |

What kind of quick disconnects are those? I work with Aeroquip's AE series at work. The pressure drop on some of the smaller ones is pretty high, so I wonder what other QDs are like when it comes to thinks like oiling/water cooling. Once you get to a -16 size I'd bet the pressure drop on most is pretty inconsequential.
Well... and the fact that one half of even the -4 size is over $800/each kind of makes them not an option for automotive usage. Don't don't allow ANY air into the system, which I hear is a big pickle with some QDs. |
