haha yes!
Always on top of safety This isnt news to me. I know exactly what the rules are. That's why we sell what we sell! So we can help out the poor drifters in need of equipment that works, and is affordable! Btw, there is a reason why WSIR emailed all the organizers only(instead of posting it on their site for everyone to see). Because they know who is doing what. They didnt want to point any fingers. They just want to inform the newer organizations(because there are so many now) of these problems. We been doing events since 07, that was 2 years ago. 626drift has made all the mistakes on the book, why are we still drifting there? Because we learn, and we follow the rules! And if you read the top portion. This ONLY APPLIES TO people that purchase insurance from WSIR. If you have your own insurance. These rules dont apply! So there you guys go. Stop the complaining. Great, now I got people freaking out.... "I need a harness to drift?" "I need a rollcage drift?" "JXN i need a fire extinguisher asap!" "Can my friends still come to the track?" Thanks guys.

WOW! what a crazy fucked up situation! heres my two cents...about 90% of us that host events or are very closely involved with other groups here know EXACTLY who is fucking around and cant seem to run a proper show. cmon. just look at the vids..there are guys pretty much hanging out cars with cameras and got thier hands all hanging out the top of miatas like its a damm roller coaster. DRIVERS DOING TANDEM WITHOUT CAGES! (seems to be the most popular) leaving tons of trash in the parking lot and blown tires on steelies lying around for "the next guy" to clean up.
you know who you are and we are all not perfect so pointing the finger is not the solution here. RUN A CLEAN EVENT BY THE RULES or dont host! its that simple. one thing we cannot stop is guys that rent it for a private day. we will just have to hope Jim or WSIR staff can keep an eye on them for the day. Best thing would be to report all damages you see BEFORE the event starts if there is any ,and leave the place nice and clean for the next group at the end of the day for the next guy.

I got a hold of WSIR staff earlier today. And they pretty much told me the same info stated above:
1. About the incident. 2. And the rules about tandem: Horse Thief Mile has to have a cage with side impact bars.... Oval and Balcony 5 point harness and fire extinguisher... ....................... Now about the situation with the fence and the 4 passenger with the hands holding the camera outside the vehicle. They pretty much know who was doing it. I think they got reprimanded and the letter was just sent to all organizers to inform everybody about the situation, to make sure everybody was on the same page. As for the property damage, I suggested that they do a visual check of the track and its surroundings before and after an event. And suggested also to follow through with what they said that they were going to do when they see 4 passengers with hands holding a camera outside. I think that is the best way to deal with it. They also said that the broken fence was not the big deal (as it is covered by insurance) but it was the "not informing them about the damage so they can fix it" that got them a little upset. Pointing fingers will not help in finding the solution to the problem, it just makes everybody worried about events. Complying to their set rules will. If we comply to their set rules there should not be any problems. |

I know which video you are talking about, and WSIR knows about it. WSIR knows who did the damage to the fence and who did 4 passengers with the camera sticking out of the car. Pointing fingers will not make your event better than everybody elses.... it just shows what kind of personality you have. |

I don't think I have read any one post "pointing" at anyone in particular. I think that people are simply posting their own examples of the kind of misbehavior that they know of.
So YES, it is WE who need to keep on top of things whenever we attend OR host events. It will be for the benefit of ALL to NOT tolerate behavior which may threaten the relationship we have with ALL venues, not just WSIR. And I hope that the safety equipment you all may purchase is actually real safety equipment not just "dress-up" stuff. It's in your own best interest. |

You do not need cages to run tandem people.
So seriously, SHUT THE FUCK UP! harnesses and an extingusher . seriously, at least the staff of WSIR understands that if a car runnng at 100mph on the bumper of another car coming round turn 9 on big willow doesnt need a cage, then a car going 45mph on balcony probably doesnt either. lol Quote:
I dont know who is guilty of everything lately. No one is pointing a finger at a specific group. We are all guilty at some point. just nip them drivers in the but And you newer events, So stay on top of it guys. Sometimes people will amaze you with the things they asume they can do on the track. lol Im sure you know what im talking about already. FYI, people dont get smarter, lol they keep coming up with new ways to baffle you, lol. And 626Events does have a few people that have been blacklisted because we felt they were a safety issue, and could create problems with WSIR for our events. so just like Zilvia, Pink people or ban them if you have too It will help keep WSIR open for all of us!! |

give someone a ride and look at their face then ask this question again. Not being able to give ride alongs would be a drag! I wonder what events use WSIR's insurance and who uses their own. And like Aaron said, if i had a JZX110, it would have 4 buckets and i would be taking a full car load of friends around HTM blasting Kickstart My Heart. Hopefully on the bumper of another friend doing the same.

I stand corrected, nobody is pointing fingers. But it seemed like a little (just a little) Everybody is guilty at some point, and a nip in the butt would suffice. Now we just need to comply to make everything better. |

Just trying to clear this thing up before it gets ugly or we lose a great venue and asset to the entire drift community of SoCal. WSIR has been great. This email is an example of them trying to work with us and keep us good in their eyes. other places would just give us the boot Quote:
We admit we have had our issues like all us staff and organizers. Just gotta try and stay one step ahead of those crazy drift nuts Quote:
I just put the smiths on and cut myself in the dark. I was lucky, he wasn't having an outbreak |

Our orginization actually has no interest in running any events there because everyone and thier mom is hosting there now so if we want to drive there then we can simply hit up one of the events that happening just about every weekend. but that doesnt mean that we want to see WSIR go away.

WAH WAH WAH.
1.) QUIT BITCHING 2.) FOLLOW DIRECTIONS 3.) DRIVE It's that simple. Someone really needs to start a fucking reality series because this is too much drama coming from a "grassroots" motorsport. |

Seems like a very legitimate question to me. Am I off here?? you reply with "What the hell is your problem?" I don't have one. I am confused why you are being so hostile. There are no "sides" here. BTW, "YOU" (meaning drivers), are not supporting anyone but your self. 626EVENTS do not pay staff for the hundreds of hours a year we put in for free and a little track time. And our organization looses money every year. But we are also providing an ecellent place to drift, learn, hangout and keep it safe and off the streets. here, have some free pizza and relax man. http://zilvia.net/f/off-topic-chat/2...zza-alert.html |
