a blow off valve only prolongs the life of your turbo. if you don't care about your turbo then dont use a blow off valve. if you want to protect your investment, $150 is cheap insurance.

im waiting for the "if you dont run a blowoff your turbo will spin backwards and explode comments"...
it wont be the reason your shit breaks - but its not necessarily "good" for it

well it could eventually lead to you shit breaking. it all depends on how strong the turbo like the condition of it. but surge isnt a good thing over long periods of time. |

I adjusted mine so it only opens at max boost- turbo stall sounds so much better than blowoff!
Engine feels more responsive, too- you're not dumping all of your boost every time you shift. Of course, I'm waiting for my t25 to die so I can justify upgrading... so if this actually DOES shorten the life, so be it. I might not be so willing to take a chance when I have the new one on there!! |

boy does that sounds so uneducated. it's like spreading a rumor among children. explode? some impeller fins might shoot off out of your tailpipe if you don't have a cat. other than that i feel all of possibilities have been covered. your choice man.

If you get impeller fins out your tailpipe you might have to wonder what kind of damage they did on the way through your motor.

all it is is that u loss spool. due to the pressured air goin back to the turbo and slowing down ur spool.
i think its gonna take a long time to break. like everyone says. but that shit aint gonna BLOW UP. |

That sounds like a good Idea... Plus, Ive been told that bb turbos dont suffer from compressor surge. Not my words, just figured Id throw that in there to get some feedback on that. Theoretically, it makes sense that bb turbos would deal with it better.

BOV's are a good thing to have, but for god's sake get one that you can re-circulate back into the intake. I hate the BOV's that sound all "the fast and the furious"! OH, and adjust it correctly. It is super annoying when the BOV is always going off, especially with a HKS ssqv!
