yeah i meant city/state rivalry.
because honestly, their is a shitload of bandwagon when it comes to basketball. I've noticed that people tend to only want to watch basketball ball when the "coolest" cities or "coolest" players are involved. |

Haha I hate the people that cheer for Boston because they're sick of seeing everyone cheer for the Lakers. WTF do you expect, you're in Los Angeles, idiot.

How can you say that, I know a lot of people that have went to games me included when the C's sucked. I have been a celtics fan for 20+ years. I guess because I haven't posted in here regularly then I am a bandwagon fan.
Have you ever been to the garden, boston fans are crazy. It's on a whole other level here in Boston with sports I am not just saying that because I am from Boston either. The announcers even commented on the energy difference in the crowd between LA and boston. |

I think he means the "fans" that suddenly came out when Boston reached the Finals.
With the Lakers it's different. You either love them or hate them. Same with Kobe. There is no in-between. The reason, I think, for the lack of crowd intensity is that LA fans have been spoiled with 3 titles this decade. Also, Staples Center is not a good venue to convey sound. Other arenas, sound is channeled to the court, whereas at Staples Center, sound is lost through the building design. Our old arena, the Forum, was a different story. That place was LOUD. Also, the new breed of Laker fans aren't as passionate about the game like the fans of the last decade and teams. Also the celebrities are just there to show face. |

I know it may be hard for some of you to believe but I'm not really a C's fan. I was rooting for them, because I dislike Kobe and because I really like PP, KG and Ray. I grew up lovin MJ (who didn't) and still like the Bulls, but what I'm really hoping for is the Clippers move to the Pond...I'd buy season tickets in a second. I already go to like 20+ games a year, it's just a hassle driving to staples from south county.
Anyways, it was a pretty good playoffs after one of the best seasons in a while. I'm lookin forward to the draft and free agency and all. I'll wait until the next NBA thread starts to continue. |

ugh I said I'd come back and post thursday but fuuuuuuuckkkkkkkk
I haven't even thought about the offseason yet. Gonna ignore all the posts before this (they're all green posts anyways) It's gonna take me awhile to process all this. Looking forward to next season already but I wonder what additions/subtractions will take place.

haha, that guy was stupid enough to wear a celtics jersey in a mob of Laker fans who are mostly gangsters (gang bangers can't afford to go to real games so they go to the road showings ) then he should prolly get his ass whooped.

Simoun, Lakers did not want the championship and you can tell by the way they played. My friend has been saying that im a spurs fan cuz i told them that the spurs have a solid team. He also asked me if I thought the spurs would do better and I said yes. What do you guys think.
If the spurs were in the finals, do you think they would have done better?

That's hard to answer. The Hawks and Cavs did better
than the Lakers, but that was the 1st and 2nd round... I think the Spurs could have done a little better. The Lakers only had one slasher in Kobe, and even he didn't get to the basket much. Spurs have two slashers in Parker and Ginobili, so I'm sure they would have gotten to the hole a lot more, but these are all what-if scenarios. |

Well I just told him that I thought the spurs would PROBABLY have done better since they have a more solid team. Lakers are too inconsistant in their scoring. Another big factor that came into play were the players who came off the bench. Lakers have nobodys as their secondary team. Spurs have a better secondary team. Thats why the Lakers couldnt do anything even when the big three were out.
