Machine Shop?
It's about that time to kick off my first rebuild but I don't know where to go for machining. Anyone have suggestions in LA county because I tried searching and nothing. Plus yelp is a toss up for me and don't really trust it, so I need help from people who actually took their engine to a shop so I can get real feedback. I'm rebuilding the ka24de for anyone wondering. Thanks in advance.

I notice you're from the 626. I've taken car related stuff to this place near Pasadena called Hollywood Machine Shop. The place looks pretty janky but so far the work they've done for me has been good, fairly cheap, and done relatively quickly. They've always got engines going in and out of that place, although I don't have any first-hand experience with engine block stuff needing work.
baldo is the guy you want to ask for. He's the owner. Here's their yelp page fyi: http://www.yelp.com/biz/hollywood-machine-shop-pasadena |
