Yea, definitely considered it but it all lined up right with a little work and you will never see it unless you really look for it. Now I just need o find a good place to by paint so I can do a full repaint after I fit my side skirts, rear bumper, and valances. I am going to paint it myself after I get all the molding and windows pulled and the little dents fixed.

Well I decided I had had enough of the stupid AT transmission, so up the car went into the air.

I felt like getting the hard part done first so I all have to do is the wiring after the trans gets in its new home. The brake pedal gave me a little trouble. Here are my pedals, I still need to adjust them a little to have then in the right place to my liking. Had to pull a little of the rubber floor out a little of get the brake pedal up there.

Then I pulled the AT shifter and the cylinder lock cable.

Front shot of how high I got the car to work on.

And the Old heavy AT out!!!!!

I kind of got stuck after this as I had issues with the flywheel so this is pretty much where I am at now, I will try to mate the transmission tomorrow if I can.

I am still a little confused on the wiring however as I am swapping ECU's for the correct 1996 MT and not sure if this information pertains to that or not.

http://www.ka24development.com/cwilf...lectrical.html

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. As this info kind of confuses me as I am not sure which wires can be removed and what can stay. I mean obviously the CAS sensor wires, O2 sensor wires, and the speed sensor wires need to stay but I am not sure how to or if i need to remove all the other stuff that was connected to the AT.

Well,
Pulling the AT pilot bushing out was the first thing I did when I pulled the old trans out.

I had a problem with the new pilot bushing, I pushed it in a little to far and had to take it out and get a new one as it would not allow the transmission to go all the way into the clutch. I finally pulled the transmission out to find that problem out. Installed the new pilot bushing and the transmission went right in. Learned my lesson thats for sure!

Wired up my reverse lights and OD and neutral switches, bled the clutch and got everything buttoned up.

I have been driving the car for about 500 miles now and so the clutch is broken in and I am in love with being fully in control of my car now. Turned my car into a whole new car. The only problem is since i bought the Trans used it is very loud and needs a rebuild sooner than later. I makes a lot of bearing noise in all the gears and I thing the main shaft bearing is toast. All the syncros seem fine as it shifts buttery smooth, without any grinds or pop outs. Swapped ECU's so i have not cold start issues or CEL.

I didn't take many pictures because I was working as a one man show for the most part. I am sure most of you out there have done a 5spd swap before so there is really no need for all the pictures. I will however take pictures of the interior to show my shift know and new trim piece .

Here is a picture a 2AM after the first drive as a proper 5spd S14:

And a few days after when I finally washed my car after it sat a week doing the swap. It sucked only being able to work on it after a full day of work but I got it done:

I guess I will just have to save up and get a rebuild kit for the transmission soon and pull it out and rebuild it so I have a fresh transmission, for that I will have more pictures.

All in all I could not be happier with how it turned out. Now that I have done the swap I have the knowledge to and experience to do it quicker IF I ever have to do it again.

Pictures are deceiving the hood and bumper need a repaint, as well the side skirts, rear bumper and valances. Yea I don't plan on going KA-T any time soon, so just a rebuild on the trans I got will be fine.

Well not much has been going on, I found a JDM grille used and swooped it up. I have been collecting parts here are there as well. I also decided I wanted to put my JDM rear bumper on and fog lights, now I just need to install the side skirts(need to find the correct hardware) and install my rear valances and it will be time to prep the body for paint. However I am kind of waiting to purchase new wheels and tires some Enkei NT03+M 18x9.5 +27 all around so I can roll the fenders into shape before paint.

I know this build is going slow and I apologize for the lack of updates, but time and money are the main problems right now. I work about 50 hours a week and got to school full time as well. But in the next couple of months I should have the wheels and tires on the car and begin to save up for paint then. I am also slowly putting funds aside for my turbo build and a nice bucket seat and quick release setup for the interior.

Here is the car in its current state, even though it is three different colors I feel like it is taking some shape finally.

So I couldn't help myself from getting a bucket seat lol.

Since I am 6'4'' and 240LBS I had to get a Recaro SPG XL to fit my big ass... I also needed to make sure I could get the seat as low as possible so I custom made my own mounts to get the seat practically on the floor of the car. Here is the general mock up on the drivers side rails.

And here are the two sides mocked up(excuse the blurry picture):

Here is the seat in the car for the first time all mounted up.

I drove around with the rusted ass brackets for a couple of weeks fine tuning the brackets to get it to fit right to my liking. Then yesterday I took the seat out and sandblasted and painted the brackets since I finally got the seat where I wanted. With a helmet on I have plenty of clearance, and I can't even see my windshield washer nozzles on my hood any longer so I set pretty low now compared to stock. Here is the finished product, I know a bucket seat with stock wheel WTF! I should be able to get a quick release and wheel shortly here it get rid of the big bulky stock wheel.

Also I threw the the idea out about Enkie's and started to save up for the wheels I really wanted. The Sizes are 18x8.5 +25 and 18x9.5 +30 I know they are not the baller size wheels But I feel like I will be able to run some meat for tires since i am not into the stretched tire/major fender role type of person. Here are some pictures before the seller packed them up and shipped them to me.

They should be here by Friday the 19th, I will probably send them off to wheel flip and get them refinished so they will be looking like new. After those are installed and I have test fitted my side skirts I will be ready to get this thing painted. Was thinking of painting it myself, but not sure now as I am second guessing myself. I know that I will be doing the body work for sure myself so it is done right. I guess time will tell but hope to be ready to paint it by the beginning of summer.

The LMGT4 wheels arrived on the 18th and now I am just waiting to send them off to get refinished. I also ordered a bunch of goodies I couldn't pass up that popped up in the for sale section which have put the wheels on hold lol.
Here they are:

Nismo 330 GT full leather wheel, Nismo horn button, and Nismo oil cap. All of them are the old school lettering like my exhaust So I guess I have been bit by the Nismo bug.

I also ordered a works bell hub and NRG 2.5 quick release for the wheel, Shakitto plates and Carbing front strut bar:

I am waiting on the quick release to install the wheel. I am also picking up another item this weekend that will be a great addition prior to paint

I have to replace the coolant sensors and thermostat (with a nismo one of course) as my car is throwing a P0125 code as of late. The I will be purchasing progressive sway bars front and rear and then the wheels and tires will be going on. I need to stop purchasing new parts but they are deals that only pop up every once in a while so oh well. I know I am not really posting build pictures but will be soon and hope to have the wheels refinished within the next month and then will be purchasing tires.

Very nice progress so far. Thanks for the info on the seat, I am 6'4 240 as well and have been looking for some time on a seat/rail combo that will work.. I have a sunroof LE model (canada) and need something that sits low. How much lower then stock would you say you are now?

PS, great parts your buying. Keep it legit.

I would say i set like 2-3 inches lower than stock with my custom seat brackets depending on if i have the pads in the seat bottom. The great thing is that I can put my stock seat back in no problem. I used to hit with a helmet on with the stock seat now i have an inch easy with the pads in and 2 inches without the pads.

Thanks i am trying to buy only legit parts, no knock off shit.

I have been parts hoarding the stuff listed above and finally got it all in plus some other pieces to the puzzle. One of them being a JDM Kouki lip in great shape
Here are just some of the parts I have been hoarding...

Would like to mention that Corner 3 garage has been a huge help in obtaining OEM parts and aftermarket goodies to help be get my car up to my expectations. Would like to thank the whole Corner 3 Garage crew for all the knowledge and great customer service. If you are in Socal and need a place to get an alignment or just to order parts and shoot the shit hit up the guys at http://www.corner3garage.com

Well on wednesday I decided to put the Nismo wheel on with the NRG 2.5 QR and the Works bell short hub.

The old shitty stock wheel that made nasty nosies when going over bumps at speed...

The inner workings...

The hub and QR base installed and wired up:

The Nismo 330 GT wheel purchased from VAs13 off his R33 GTR( Thanks for the great deal on an awesome wheel man!) installed.

And then the last piece the horn button, Nismo of course...

All in all with the works bell hub the install was very easy, no SRS light, still have a horn, and turn signal cancel. This wheel with the bucket seat give me plenty of room in the car now which is great since i needed the space. It's also nice to be able to take the wheel off to get out of the car .

Today after work I decided to see how the lip I picked up fit and how I would mount it besides just the normal places. Man I love OEM fitment.... it practically snapped onto the front bumper. I will need to secure it with screws in the general places but nothing more will be needed to make it fit like a glove. After these pictures I also mocked up my side skirts to see what they needed and i have decided to use the OEM mounts to make them set like factory without the use of double sided tape.

I have been getting quotes for a full respray of the car so if you are in Socal and know of a really good painter for a reasonable price let me know so I can contact them...

Should have kept that Works Bell short hub..... I ended up buying another one but for some reason it's an older version and doesn't look as good. So bummed.

And damn you for getting that lip... I was about to get that.

Lip has some repairs made to it but besides that it is in great shape. I will need to heat it up on the drivers side upright piece as it doesn't fit 100 perfect but that probably me just being anal about fitment lol. Yea thanks for the hookup on all the parts I purchased from you. I thought you were parting out to sell your car?

IF you still have the Du-luck brace and ever want to sell it please let me know lol.

Well its been a while since updating, I have dropped my wheels off at wheel flip and just waiting for them to finish them up its been more than a month but that is to be expected.

I was finally able to install my Carbing strut bar and Shakkito plates.

I am still saving for paint, I am about 3/4 of the way saved up. In the mean time I am going to buy CSTV Calipers and do that conversion once my wheels are complete.

After a wash:

Well I feel like i am making progress even though nothing has been put on the car lol. I was finally able to mock up my aero to get an idea for how it will look.

Then I finally got word back from wheel flip that my wheels were done so I went and picked them up.

I also purchased tires Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 245/35/18 and 265/35/18 which should be here Monday. I also need to order lug nuts for the new wheels and I will be ready to put them on the car.

I also have a Nismo brace, progress sway bars, and a helical diff to install that are just setting around.

My plan is to have the car painted within the next 4-6 weeks, Already talked to a legit painter here on the forums and plan is to keep the pearl white. Can't wait for this thing to be all one color again...

I paid 560 cash but dropped them off and picked them up. The reason it is so much is because of the polished lips...

What lug nuts are you using?
