Unhappy sr20 smoking after shifting

Hey guys im new here, i have a sr20 redtop pretty much stock. im having a problem after shifting. Right after shifting blue smoke puffs out of my tailpipe when hitting the gas. I know its obviously burning oil somehow but i dont know where its coming from

Most likely, you're turbo exhaust seal is crapping out.

Or the piston rings. Duh!

Or a simple PVC valve.

it could be anything that introduces oil into the combustion chamber during high vacuum, like a faulty intake valve stem seals or the pcv valve. if it`s the turbo or the piston rings, it would smoke everytime, especially at high boost. since you said after shifting when you close the throttle, manifold pressure becomes negative or vacuum, which can suck oil into the manifold from faulty intake valve seals or pcv valve. check the pcv valve first. it`s the shiny steel that screws on to the valve cover and has a hose going to the intake manifold. replace that and go for a drive. if it still smokes in between shifts, you might have to replace the intake valve stem seals. good luck and i hope it`s only the pcv valve.
