White Bunny Clutch Questions
I'm ordering a 1993 Nissan D21 2WD 4 Banger:
Clutch Kit Flywheel Clutch Release Bearing from autozone. Duralast. Am I doing this right? Why is the Enjuku white bunny almost double the price?

Duralast =/= Competition Clutch.
You're comparing the prices of an OE clutch replacement kit and a performance clutch kit that's meant to hold more power. |

I'm comparing the white bunny clutch kit that I pieced together vs a store bought one that is intended to make money. The white bunny was originally a OE parts replacement using normal store bought clutch parts. I'm asking for some advice pertaining to what I bought.

It looks like a good setup, I have something similar that I just installed. However I went with an OEM TOB because, well, duralast isn't known for their quality parts. What sort of power are you making? I'd say the only real difference in the white bunny is the fact that they advertise 250mm and a competition disc. Duralast is 240mm. Be sure to snag a pilot bearing and maybe a clutch fork pivot too.

I pieced mine together with all mid-grade pieces from NAPA in 2006.

Before After So you used a 280ZX clutch with a D21 flywheel? Any reason you didn't use the D21 Clutch and Flywheel?

Because I was doing what people before me had done when piecing the kit together. I imagine that the reason is because the ZX has a higher power rating and naturally the clutch should too.

The only forums I read all said to use the clutch from a 1993 Nissan D21 2WD 2.4L engine. I wasn't sure what clutch to use from the 280 because there is the 280Z or the 280ZX. So should I return this clutch kit and get the one for a 280? If so what year and model is a safe bet? EDIT: Here is a link to the thread I was reading. http://forums.nicoclub.com/240sx-whi...p-t227129.html

I checked at autozone the 1981 280ZX and the 1993 D21 both have a 9.5" clutch diameter. The 240SX and a 1975 280Z have a 8.875" diamter clutch. The 2+2 280Z has a 9.5" diameter clutch.
I think I am okay with the D21. It's already on the car as well.

Get an rb25 clutch and flywheel. D21 flywheel is heavy, even the one in the competition kit is 18lbs. I just got an rb25 XTD 13lb flywheel and a competition stage 3 clutch rated for 500wtq for around $400 altogether. I've heard of people running the parts store white bunny setup and had it slip at less than 250whp. Add the abuse of tracking your car(if you are), it won't last much longer than an oe clutch setup for a KA.
