I care about my paint a lot too. But a fender roller has proven to be difficult to obtain, and I couldnt wait any longer to roll them, as my tire would be shredded by now if i didnt. Doing it with a baseball bat is VERY doable without damaging any paint that will be seen. The paint on the actual lip that youre rolling will be damaged, but only from the bat rolling and scraping along it. Once its rolled you wont be able to see it. Im running a 255 on an 18" +22 wheel on an s14, so I didnt really need an aggressive roll to get it to clear. I didnt bend the lip all the way up to the inside of the fender though, just rolled it enough to make clearance. Id say I rolled it (from level) to about 2/3 of the way up, which was enough to clear my tires. Just take your time, and use a bat with softer wood. I used a kiddy t-ball bat, as the diameter on full sized bats were too large.

Oh, and you can do most of the rolling early on without any heat. Its once the angle of the metal becomes very acute that the paint starts to crack. So if you dont need ALL of the clearance, dont roll it all the way. Just roll it as far as it needs to go to clear. If you need to roll it completely flush, id get a roller and heat gun.

Its all about being flush so with that being said I think that I will continue to look for a fender roller and if I have no luck then I will buy one. 240sx123$ thanks for the great tips.
