hks catback too short for my fastback!
IVE SEARCHED!
and couldnt find anything on this issue ive encountered. Is there a difference between the coupe and fastback when it comes to installing an s13 catback? (hks hi-power to be specific). because i just got an hks hi power catback off of an s13 coupe. installed it and theres about a 2 inch gap. im using a stock cat. i can push the pipes together but then the tip of the exhaust gets too close to the bumper. and i hate burnt bumpers in the exhaust area, especially now that ive got a new paint job, this is vital. i bought it thinking that all s13 catbacks should fit any s13. i apologize in advance if this issue has been covered, i may have typed in the wrong keywords but i typed what i could think of. if you guys can lead me in the right direction id appreciate it! thanks! |

There shouldn't be, because I bought my HKS Hi-Power from someone who had it in their coupe, and I saw it in their coupe, I took it home and installed it into my fastback and it fits perfectly fine.

i figured they were the same.
hangers arent bent. stock hangers. no body kit, stock bumper, but i plan on putting a new rear body kit bumper. so i wanted it to stick out further. do you guys have pictures of what it should look like? i believe that if you look down at the exhaust, the tip should protrude about a half inch. before i completely installed it, i let the axle back relax and hang so it was perfect. but i had to push it back to bolt on. thanks guys. |

^Perhaps your cat is shorter than most? I have a spare Nissan cat thats 1.5 inches longer than the stock one, so perhaps somehow you have one that is shorter than stock.
Just a thought. |

i would think that if it fits my car, it must be for an s13.
does the s14 have flanges clocked in the same position but perhaps shorter? is it possible i may have an s14 cat? |

yea thats what its supposed to look like. the tip on mine is almost aligned with the toe hook and even more slanted to the point where its touching the far left side of the bumpers exhaust cut.
but i hate that your toe hook is touching the exhaust. thanks though duff. |
