I was taking lunch break from work to buy some food for me and my co-workers (he ordered a large drink).
so i got the food set the drink in the cup holder and drove back to the office.
Coming to a intersection on yellow i decided to stop suddenly then all of a sudden the large ass drink leans over and was ready to spill all over my car i grabbed it with out looking ahead of me.
I guess i let go the brake the same time i grab he drink. I heard a thud and my heard dropped. I just rear ended a acura tsx.
So the driver got out and was a very well dressed japanese gentlemen (i suppose) he asked me to pull over we talked and inspected the damage. The Tsx has 2 pin sized scratch on the lower rear bumper while i had a dent and a minor caved in hood

...... anyways the man asked me for my drivers liscence he copied down my name and address some info and said ill call you if i need any repairs. There was no cops involved and no insurance was exchanged nor did he ask me for and cash on the spot so what going to happed? Am i off the hook?

yea i forgot to set the teas to auto stop that why my brakes didn't lock and i rolled into him, man why didn't i think of that

I had a similar situation happen... although no drink was involved...

I rear ended the guy and seriously only left the two imprints of the screws holding my License plates... Dude hustled me out of 100 bucks... Lol.

He'll probably just give his car a nice expensive buffing job and send you the receipt...

its very possible he looked at his car and then looked at yours. Being a somewhat nice guy? He might have figured the damage on his car was minor, and took pity on the amount of damage on your car. Possibly deciding just to not go any farther.

Its not the first time I have heard of that happening. Believe it or not there are still some decent people in the world, that are not trying to take full advantage of situations, to the point of excess.

From what I understand, if there's no police report, then it's just a whole he-said she-said bullshit situation. For instance, I was on the freeway one day, stuck in traffic. The road was sloped upward, and the car in front of me rolled back and hit my front bumper. I'm guessing the idiot fell asleep.

My bumper was already in jacked-up condition, so I didn't really care. The guy was about to get out of his car, but I just stuck my head out the window and yelled, "Hey it's ok I don't care!" So the dude gets back in his car, and about 30 seconds later, he gets out again and says, "No, you hit me!" What a bastard, right?

So we procede to trade information or whatever. He didn't call the police, so there was no police report. Anyways, this whole situation was utter bullshit. About a week later, his friend from his insurance company calls me about the incident, and I basically just said it didn't happen. There was no police report.

Then they contacted my insurance company who also proceeded to tell them that there was no police report and that they were shit out of luck.

Another week passes... then two weeks... three... and that was it. End of story.

Basically, I believe that if there was no police report written, you could basically just say to the other dude/other dude's insurance, "Hey I don't know what the hell you're talking about, I was home playing with my nuts that day." They'll be persistent, but you should tell them to suck it and call it a day.

That's IF it wasn't your fault. Basically, the other dude's stupid for not calling a cop to get the police report. Consider yourself lucky, but you should probably own up to your mistake and spot the dude some dough to fix his bumper. Karma will come back and rape you.
