Please help! Ka24de power loss. Clutch??
1991 240sx ka24de.
Coulnd find a similar problem online. Just recently I began to lose power. I step on the gas and my rpms rise but acceleration doesn't change. I can still get up to speed as long as a I have a steady foot on the gas. There just is no power. I will try to accelerate by stepping on the gas and my rpms rise with no acceleration then my rpms go back down and catch up slowly to my current speed. Just removed egr and all emissions components. O2 sensor on check engine light MAF appears to function. Disconnected while car was on and car shut off. Manual transmission with 130k on clutch. Could it be a weak fly wheel or bad clutch? Or even my O2 or MAF? Please help guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If engine RPM is rising and your not going anywhere it sounds like a clutch. You can get the flywheel resurfaced and get a new clutch, or get both aftermarket.
If you plan on doing any spirited driving or want something a bit stronger than stock I would suggest a Competition White Bunny setup, it comes with a new flywheel and clutch disk/pressure plate/alignment tool/bearing/pilot, and it uses a larger diameter disk and wheel which holds a good bit more power. http://www.enjukuracing.com/products...y-upgrade.html |

Bad clutch gets my vote. When there's not enough friction material left, the clutch's capacity for the torque it can withstand dwindles and it begins to slip. It's like having zero brake pad material left and there's just metal-to-metal contact.
I ordered a LUK clutch set from rockauto and did it in my driveway for less than $150, plus another 50 to have the flywheel resurfaced. Wasn't too bad.

Thanks guys! Appreciate that. Some people were telling me it could be my butterfly valves from blocking egr. I just don't believe it's that.
