I switched Dashes, and I asked a cop about it. What I ended up doing was drilling out the rivits on both dashes, and re-riviting the correct vin# on the "new" dash. If a cop ever asks why it looks like the vin has been tampered with, tell them. I figured that would be better than having the wrong vin. why in the world were they checking your dash vin to your chassis vin anyway?

Run with out a dash like I did. Simple. If you dont like the hotness, take off the new dashes vin and leave it. Its a new dash, if the cop has a problem with it, karate chop his ass and dip.

If you use similar rivets, be gentle, and take your time, there should be no reason for him to suspect it was tampered with. If you hack the shit out of it, crease it, use 1/2 inch rivets......he may suspect somethings up.

Drill the rivets out and rivet the correct plate in like the rest of us did when we swapped our dashboards.
Or if you wanna be supar ghetto, take the plate out alotgether and have him check the VIN on the firewall. |

You guys make it too hard. Cut the bottom portion of the rivet off and push it out, then stick the plate to the dash with doubleside. Looks OE because you haven't messed with the top of the rivets.

^ I actually did that with my current vins. I was too lazy to go and buy a rivet gun and rivets. But the proper way of removing rivets is by drilling out the center.
