A couple days ago I pulled off my valve cover to put in a new gasket, when I was pulling the hosing off of the T piece that goes to the oil catch can the hose cracked.

I thought no problem just go get some new hose, as I went to go measure length I noticed a brass looking filter/valve.



I'm not entirely certain as to what this is for and if I need a new special kind of hose with whatever this is in it, if I can just get it out of the old hose and put it into the new one, or just put the new hose in without it.

Thanks in advance, any advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I just used a regular hose.

Slit your old hose, pull it out!
