what to do for my new car
so as many know i had to off my 98 RB25 240 and got a POS car to pass the time, now i am about to get into a decent job plus i am getting disibility money from the VA so i am not sure what i want for a new car. I have narrowed it down to three options and am just seeing what people think. any other options are going to be OK, but here is the thing WRX=everyone and their dog has one around here ( i see about 20-30 of them every day in a town of 75K and i don't go looking for them ) EVOs are nice, but when stacked next to a G35 coupe are SEVERELY lacking as a daily driver (ie interior quality) so vote how you thing and leave a comment if you think you need to.
***edit 240 coupe would end up something like ThatGuy's car with either another RB25, or possibly a LS depending on how mutch i want to toss into it |

I probable wouldn't buy an EVO personally,I just am not too big on Mitsbubishi quality. So what if WRXs are everywhere,if you want an STI,then go buy one. I personally wouldn't buy a regular wrx but would buy an STI. Everybody I know that has WRX's that actually run them hard, always has majors problems with the transmission,no thank you.

Wow, I am completely flattered to have anyone say my car looks anything like what they would want for themsleves. So for that, THANK YOU.
For a DD I would go with either the G35, for Luxury Sportiness. The GTO, for the 6.0 400hp LS2 that I want in my 240. Or a used Z06 for all around great performace. It really is a tough choice.

I would do a S13 project car, but thats just my style and opinion. I'm not at that point in my life where comfort matters..lol. I dont think you can beat a C5 Z06 though for performance:money ratio. There pretty cheep now a days with the C6 Z06 out and the Z07 rumored to be comning out soon. I just dont know how often your going to need to carry anything besides yourself and maybe one passenger.....and gas....crap...

Depends what you're looking for AND how much you've got or willing to fork out....
Luxury with good power and decent MPG- G35 coupe Track purposes and more likely better MPG than the other two - old 240sx POWER!- definitely GTO... damn good HP for its price |

Fuckin shit makeing me repost it...
But yeah, everyones opinion and point of view will be diffrent. Me i wouldnt get a G35, as nice as they are...I just hate most of the cars that are 01+ because of the space ship looking designs, too much electrical programs needed for the car to run, and all that plastic shit in the engine bay. I think its a waste of money for a new car, i rather spend the money on a s13 with alot of mods to give it better handling and power then the expensive ass G35 stock. And still have money left over to get another daily driver. But on the other hand, i would get a Impreza 2.5RS or a STi (boo wrx). Or a EVO but it has to be a EVO6, the new ones look like a rice bucket screaming out it wants attention. But if your planing somthing for a family...a Forester with a few engine and suspension mods for the kick when picking up the kids from school. But if you want VIP, a Infiniti Q45 or BMW 740. |

unless the new evos made a look more like a G35 inside and less like a 1990 toyota camery interior, they are out of the question. if i sighn onto 30K or so then i better get a damn nice car that has a puntch AND is good for a week long road trip. the GTO is nice, but even the hoaky pontiac interior is about 300x better than the evo's. the evo reminds me of a old camery or a old hunday when looking at the inside quality.
a legacy GT is an option, but hte nice new ones (with the nice new price tags) are a bit too out there for me. probibly get a decent looking older one for around 10K that was what i was thinking with the old S13 coupe. thanks for all the info though, just fun to look at what everyone else thinks. |

Evo. Screw what the interior looks like, the damn things work.
G35s are fat bastards, the GTO is a fatter bastard. Find a used E46 330i Performance Package. |

The Monaro is very popular back in England. Its a sporty car...but the looks aren't that impressive. Would never buy an EVO. Damn thing is too juvenile. And the engine is powerful but its still a damn dinosaur in new threads.
Get something practical as a dd and a project car if you like getting your hands dirty. Do some research (publishers' and drivers' reviews) and find the car that really fits your needs. BIGBX1: I must agree. Value of the G35 is very good. Matter of fact the residual value is one of the best in its class. But, I would have to argue that the build quality can be beaten.
