Need help on 97 240sx ECU Code - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

ok im suppose to buy this dude car but dont know if his car have obd2 or obd1 so i tell him to read me the code for his ecu and this is what i get

J6 A18-H63-Ga3

And he told me that his mechanic that used to work on his car told him is OBD2 so im just posting up here and make sure that some profession verified to me that that is OBD2 ECU or he just lieing..

while the 97-98 240sx doesnt have whatever it call J6 on NF J7 Wm while the closed one i can find is J7 below...

NF = 97-98 240sx AT (KA24DE) (?) OBDII Emissions
J7 = 97-98 240sx SE AT (KA24DE) (A18-H64-GA4) OBDII Emissions
WM = 97-98 240sx MT (KA24DE) (A18-F34-G16) OBDII Emissions

all 96 years and up are obdII if that helps

^^^ lol. actually, all 95 and new cars came with obd2. i wish my s13 has obd2.........

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but 95 are pre-obd II. It came with OBD-II ports and such, but when tested for emmissions it is ran under OBD-I regs.

Horrible. All 96+ cars are OBD-II. Done. You can post all the bold type you want, it won't change a thing.

actually no. all late model 95s-98 s14s have obd2. I have early model obd1, 1994 march production. i am obd1.

We've beaten this horse to death too many times to be confused.

OBD port underneath the glovebox, by the console = OBD-I.
OBD port beside the hood release = OBD-II.

Done again.
