Slammed
I was just wondering how far everyone's front is from the ground. Mine's stock suspension with a stock bumper and it's 6 5/8".
Oh and i just painted my front lip. It was all f'ed up with deep gashes in it. It was more than a pain in the ass to get it done right. First i sanded it down, which made it really rough and nasty looking. I painted it flat black in which looked ugly as hell. So i decided to do it right. I went and bought some primer and metallic black spray paint. now that i had painted it flat black, that had to be removed. paint thiner is all i had but i came off pretty easy. I sanded the bitch down again and painted it with the primer. Then sanded it again to get a really smooth surface. then i painted it again with the metallic black. I really didn't think it was going to turn out as good as it did. (just thought i would share)

i slammed mine for a day..then the sway bar rubbed on every big bump on the freeway. it was only 2 inches off the ground. So i raised it up again.

when you lower it past a certain point w/ the stock lower control arms, the geometry gets kinda screwed up.
i just raised mine some actually. I was tucking tread on my front tires w/ 225/45/17's and i nearly lost my left frame rail and most of my wiring harness while i was at the track due to the fact that it was too low. Dropping into a 20* bank at 50 mph wasnt so nice to my undercarraige.

my car is about 3.5 inches lower than stock...and i think i have roughly 4.5 inches from the frame rail to the ground.
currently making a skid plate. i'll post pics and a write up once everything is on and looks clean. so far looks like my oil pan only has one major dent, and luckily, it's only about .25" deep. |
