does anyone know the specs on an sr20de like compression strength of internals differances in dead design cams. stuff like that just wondering if sr20det is worth the extra money cause if i change the cams, exhaust mani, injectors, computer and turbo what is really left to make it better? ( i know that the compression is lower, and det uses direct ignition and bigger injectors) please not i figure at any rate i will have to rebuild the motor over the winter any way. if any one know a website with this info it would help and save time thanks in advance to all who reply

I don't know the specs for it, but I asked the Infiniti tech that works with me, he said that they are very very different on the inside. The exterior of the engine is exactly the same (except the turbo), but the det has much stronger internals to handle the turbo. The guy knows what he's talking about because the Infiniti G20's have the sr20de engine and his buddy has a 240 with a sr20det in it and he has seen both very closely.

they may be very different, but when it comes down to it, the internals are really limited on both engines to the cast pistons. Both should be good for 400hp on stock internals.
