96 240sx loud thud when braking

Had just bought this s14. Everything is stock. It's a manual transmission.

This is the first 240 I have that had this problem. Basically when braking and slowing down to a stop, there will be a loud thud noise from the rear end. The noise can also be heard when shifting gears and letting go of the clutch pedal. Also with this loud thud noise, there's also a slight jump.

Again, this only happens when braking to come to a stop and after shifting gears and letting the clutch pedal go.

Did some research and on other chat forums (Camaro and Trans AM forums) they have mentioned about a warped rotor. I wonder if that's the same case for my situation.

Please shed some light on me.

Thanks in advance.

It could be something in your braking setup or it could be a throwout bearing or something in your clutch assembly. GL!!!

bushings or a loose caliper bolt, seen that cause a brake thud as well.

Send a message via AIM to Zerolift Autolab
I'd lean towards subframe bushings for the rear.
if anything in the front I would check out the tension rod bushings (if still stock)

Why would you go to Camaro and Trans AM forums for tech advice about your Nissan?
