they are cool. they have been around for a while. they are a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.
+1 for Quin from aerodyne

My buddy didn't have a good experience there. they replace a few exhaust manifold studs because of gasket leaks and there was a stud missing. they took the manifold/turbo assembly off and didn't check the turbo to manifold gaskets for leaks so when we got the car back they said that it would cost more to replace it since that wasn't what we wanted to have done...that they would have to take everything off again to replace it. bullshit. do it right the first time. haven't been back since. when you take something apart you do a quick check for other things while you're at it especially when it comes to gaskets. it was obvious half of it was missing.
there's other places. JER RACING XS-ENGINEERING-expensive but guaranteed a good job. +1 to Eric over there.

I think, when researching shops to do something as big as an engine swap, the extra money that the more reputable shops charge is definately worth it.
I've heard nothing but good things about Marco @ sr20store. That's who I'm planning going to for my swap when I'm ready. Also, nothing but good things said about G-Dimension.

They are very hit and miss.
When I started to go to Aerodyne years ago they did really good work and had good customer service. But the last couple of times I went to them for something, I was really dissapointed. Quin Taka and Andy are cool but they're getting sloppy. |

Personally, I would pay the extra couple hundred to have a good wiring job done. 300 bucks is the difference between a clean engine bay and a half ass mickey mouse job. You'll pay for it now..or pay for it later. I've seen many swaps when my friend was going out to purchase one pre-installed. All were differen't degrees of cleanliness. pay the extra and have it done right the first time.

I agree with sideways7 lots of good work at start but they got really sloppy. I took apart a race car they finished for me because I was to busy and I was very disappointed. There cool people but I would not go there again.

There's a diference between doing a swap for a 20 year old kid who just wants it done and modding a high output show car. obviously more work and detail will go into the show car because more people will viewing it.

They did a head gasket on a friends SR, and cams were torqued half ass and improperly a few weeks later his head took a Sh!t. We pulled his head off and some of the cam bolts were loose some too tight, unacceptable. i havent heard good things about them.

I got mine done at the sr20store. Yes it was expensive (due to buying the front clip) but had no problems with the swap for over a year now. I highly recommend Marco if your willing to dish out the $'s.

if you're getting an SR swapped, I really really recommend foothill auto in glendora (626-963-4611), they just pulled out my sr and put in a new one over the last couple days and really helped me out by finishing in time for Irwindale FD. everything that they've done on my car has been really good work PM me if you want more info

I just called pat at foothill for you and he said basic swap w/ front clip would be $3700 turn-key (labor to pull both engines out, swap everything stock back over, etcetc) I have a couple of friends who have dealt with poorly done swaps and it's never worth the headache and heartache. Pat & Jon over there know their SRs and their cars really well.. so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. You might want to give him a call and talk to him to see what you get all with it or check out the shop if you're local. He's a really good guy Quote:
this one should feel a lot faster and burn a lot more tire can't wait to try it out on thursday
