Header installation Quastion
I recently acquired some headers.
was gonna put them on a 1996 ka24de obd2, but the headers have two holes welded. one is egr and the lower one. however the O2 sensor hole is open. the question is, should i just connect the egr and the lower hole on the headers how it was on the stock headers and leave it be even if they are welded shut? or do i have to have egr blocked off completely? or.... drill the holes back out and connect everything as a O.E. headers would? |

the best thing to do would be to keep all connections as original as possible.
also, headers is plural, where as 'header' is singular. inline cylinder vehicles have 1 exhaust manifold/header where as shaped cylinder vehicles will have 2 exhaust manifolds/headerS. |

First off you didnt search this topic,
Do a search for using a quarter as a egr block off.. what I did was more perminant, I pinched off the metal egr tube and brazed it shut aka welded it.... if you want it to be street legal you will need to open up the egr port on the "header" and connect it. By the way dont listen to folks claiming egr robs you of power, infact it actually lowers combustion temp due to the inert gasses that come back into the intake charge... this being said on a stock motor, if you have a programmer or tuned chip then by all means ditch the egr.....
My experience was on a 95 base Quote:
