The only reason anyone should ever ride a moped is if they are on vacation in a tropical locale or in the pits at a racetrack. Or they have a vagina.
Otherwise, cowboy the fuck up and get a real motorcycle.

i actually have been shopping for a moped. ive seen plenty. but havent picked any up yet. i wanna do something like that malaguti. with cafe bars, top tank, and rattle canned job.
can anyone point me in a direction of what would be needed as a good base moped? theres plenty around and i have no close friends who are into them so no one to ask. i am on mopedarmy but i dont like the forum style on there.

make a top tank it is so easy, just find a ped with a tube chasis and weld a top bar ont the frame, weld on brackets, and your good to go... the malaguti had a dalin motor on it (chinese) it had stock internals, it was up jetted, had a bi turbo exhuast and had an msd coil pack.. 50 is a little over zealous... i could go 50 on a straight street with the wind at my back, but in the city through turns it stayed around 35

I forgot thats how the malibootie looked stock.
Mine goes along the same lines, but it's bigger, and will have a 110cc motor with a 4 speed. This is what mine looked like stock. I need to finish it. and my motorcycle. Damnit.

Picked up a moped off ebay today. its a MINT 1980 Peugeot 102 SP.
it has been sitting years and years in a basement of the guys parents. he got it running, changed some things to make it run and now its all et. i've figured out it cost 19 bucks for new plates and all that so im set. anyone know the aftermarket support for this? i wouldnt mind making this an 80cc, but everyhing i see is for a Peugeot 103. i wonder if they are the same.
