Best kit to turbo charge KA24DE?

Shopping around and came across this

Any input? Im new when it comes to this stuff and wanted to get thoughts on this specific kit its got everything basically

Save a little more and get a better kit. Just something about saying you got your kit off Ebay that makes me....ehhh.

Quality wise I have no idea my response is base purely on speculation lol.

Alex it is ok to buy piping and even some intercoolers of ebay. But they generally are not plug and play. You normally get more pipes than you need and not enough of the right bends. So you have to cut and shape them to your specific car.

also the ebay turbos are not know for their quality control and so its purely luck if you get a decent one or not.

Lastly the cheaper ebay and other manifolds are prone to cracking due to inferior metal and welds and/or lack of proper bracing.

There is no suchthing as a "Best" turbo kit. You will need to decide what is the best for you.

Besides that, stay away from Godspeed turbos nor non reputable turbos our there. People may tell you that they used it for awhile and had no problem with it but really you don't want to be cheap on making decision on turbo.

If your budget is $1000.00 then your best bet is to go with T28 turbo from S14 SR20 and go from there.
You can purchase the turbo manifold for KA and an Intercooler kit(ebay or CX racing or Godspeed or whatever) and an Oil line kit.

But again that is not the end of the journey. You will have to get your ECU ROM tuned or go with AEM EMS or Apexi SAFC but which I dont recommend.

I would like to say $1000.00 is some what short to make your car reliable with adding forced induction.



*Off topic but if you are good with mechanic skill, you can just get SR20 swap for less than $2000 shipped these days and sell your KA to make it cost effective. Or of course you can also get CA18DET for cheaper but I wouldn't go there.

Dude, it takes much more than buying a "kit" to turbo a KA.

It depends on what setup you want to do, your pricerange and intended purpose. First, in order to secure your upgrade you need to source out your parts individually. A Garrett T25 or T28 from an earlier SR20 engine would be a high-quality choice. They are trusted to work and came OEM with the engines. Then you'd have to purchase a quality intercooler, (don't use fakes because they are known to balloon under high stress because of weaker metals) the same goes for piping; most people get custom piping especially for a KA.

Then you have to source out your engine internals like doing a complete rebuild and replacement of internals to maximize stability and reliability. Forged rods, upgraded stud fasteners, forged pistons and better valve springs. The fuel system is also important as a turbo would increase demand for higher-flowing mechanisms such as the pump and injectors. Then comes the computer and engine management to have full access to the engine dynamics and have you to be able to tune the turbo and engine properly on a dyno. There's also the requirement for a turbo exhaust manifold, blow off valve, downpipe and a bigger exhaust diameter for a better flow. You also need to take care of your cooling system like an upgraded radiator and swirl pot to compensate for increased engine heat. As well as your oil system because it will need to be cooled, maybe a relocation kit as well.

There's much more to it than just slapping a shitty Chinese kit on the engine and running it like so. You can do it that way, but it won't last very long, look like shit, run like shit and generally will blow up your engine because you're asking us for a general kit. Plus the cost will not be $1000 I can tell you that. If you're going to be at the bare minimum you probably can do it. A used turbo, piggyback/rom tune, used manifold, downpipe, used intercooler and piping and maybe a tune at your local ghetto dyno might get that for you.

What is it with people new to Nissans adding Chinese stuff everywhere? What happened to JDM
