did you guys forget about these... the clear part isnt made out of metal... hah

i just noticed that tire profile is fucking baller

Carbon fiber wheels have been around in the sportbike world for a while now, Black Stone Tek and Dyna-something have been selling $4000 sets for at least 5 yrs. They're not allowed in AMA/WSB/MotoGP because of the shatter probabilities when you hit carbon/carbon brakes at 200+mph, but the guys that run them on the street/in the canyons love them.

Also, can't beat 4lbs COMBINED weight for your wheels, vs 13lbs in magnesium, vs 18lbs or so stock...

Plastic seems like the next logical step.

if it does get into production, i think it should be mainly for hybrid cars...or it will be the next negotiating factor on pinks
